I personally think the predictions shouldn't be based off who is the better team, but who is more likely to throw. TL historically chokes during playoff and although last season was an anomaly clg chokes big time when the pressure is on.

This hasn't been the first season that tsm has looked terrible going into playoffs only to end up surprising every one and making it to the grand final. The only problem is that c9 is another team who thrives under pressure. I personally believe who ever wins between tsm and c9 will face imt in the finals. Yes it is very likely c9 is going to win, but I don't think playoff tsm should be written off as getting clean swept.

TL will 3-0 NRG. TL, piglet especially, are a very emotional team. If they some how manage to take game 1 off IMT I think they can surprise every one with a good series 3-2 going either way. However, if they lose the first game then they will get clean swept with out even putting up a fight.

Clg will choke in the semi regardless of who they face unless darshan single handedly carries their team. I fully expect every team to target ban darshan exclusively, save last pick for top and lane swap if they get an unfavorable match up.

The only way IMT lose the finals is if huni throws. This isn't as improbable of a statement as it seems. He did multiple times during the regular season, last season on fnc, worlds... etc. He is a very good player, but he tilts.

Agree, target ban the crap out of Darshan, no Jax, Fiora, and Panth? not sure about 3rd ban tbh, Gnar doesn't really deserve the ban imo, nor am I sure how much a split push threat he was on Panth, more of a carry, so I guess either way Panth would be a good ban. I could also see the Udyr though, both smart bans.

CLG isn't as likely to choke as they used to be. They still could (they did not look good at the Intel tournament), but they are arguably the most dangerous team in NA.

Playoff TSM has always been much better than regular season TSM, and Regi will be playing a much more active role in coaching in the playoffs. Plus as you said, TSM has looked poor in the regular season before only to take it to a new level in the playoffs. They have been in every single NA finals for a reason.

C9 is certainly dangerous, as Hai is as smart as ever and Jensen has become an absolute beast. However, their lack of vision control (least wards placed and least wards destroyed) has made their objective control shaky, and I believe that will come back to bite them.

TL is not good under pressure, and they are not spectacular to begin with. I would be surprised if they did anything this playoffs.

NRG is a wild card. They have yet to be tested under fire, but they have had trouble with high stakes games in the regular season. It will be interesting to see how they handle the playoffs.

IMT is a force to be reckoned with. If they can maintain the same level of excellent play they have exhibited all year, they will win the finals. However, Huni has a tendency to crack under pressure. He is an exceptional player, but if a team can exert enough pressure they can make him tilt (look at the CLG/IMT game. Darshan broke him).

CLG didn't look THAT bad at the IEM.

They are a toplane reliant team that has splitpush to win. They tried a teamfight comp vs SKT and did better than I expected after I saw the draft despite the fact SKT went on to obliterate everyone.

Later they made drafting mistakes that lost them the games vs FNC but generally exceeded expectations. They lost, yes, but the final scoreline is not everything.

If you compare 2016 to what they did at worlds it's night and day, in favour of 2016.

Finals I can't say. For C9 vs CLG, C9 has had an easy 2 weeks, losing only to TL, who dominated that game. The one doubt I have about them is how they will play against CLG, who I believe are excellent at forcing the opposing teams around the map thanks to Darshan's splitpushing and teleports. If it goes to late game, and Darshan is splitpushing, Hai's shotcalling may be the best weapon C9 has to make it to the finals.

For IMT vs TL, I think it will still be a hard matchup to call. Without a doubt, IMT is the best team in NA, losing only one game this entire season. However, that loss came to repeated thrashing of Huni and Reignover in the solo lane. TL, as of late, have won 3 of 4 previous games, and most recently against C9, which started with a First Blood and consistent outplays in the early game TL's shotcalling has improved much since last year, and they've been on a hot streak like I hadn't seen before from them. If TL can dominate the early game and control one side of the map for the majority of the game, then we might have a close and amazing 5 game series.

Hmmm I agree with the overall outcome, but no the scores of the quarter finals.. C9 vs TSM will easily go to 4-5 game. TL vs NRG will go to 4 games.

You're right about the semi-finals, and the finals IMO.

I think it will be TSM vs Immortals for the Finals, with CLG vs. TL for third place, only to have TL lose again and be run over in the gauntlet by C9 for a second time.

TSM VS IMT isn't possible in the finals, if TSM beats C9, they face Immortals in the semis.

Here is the Info: Playoffs: During Playoffs, matchups will now be reseeded in the semifinal round so that the #1 seed will face the lowest remaining seed and the #2 seed will face the highest remaining seed. This is designed to reduce the incentive to place lower in the regular LCS season to set up for an easier run to Playoff finals.

Semi's 1st seed: IMT Semi's 2nd seed: CLG

Lowest seeded team: TSM

Highest seeded: C9

If TSM beats C9, because they are the lowest seed, they have to face Immortals, if C9 beats TSM, they have to face CLG.

I just listed the rules of the tourney bracket, and explained it, that is just the schedule. The rules I listed have not been changed since they were written.

They are taking a NFL style tournament this year. Bracket doesn't matter, semis are based on seed now.

TSM-C9: 2-3 (TSM always looks better in playoffs, but this can go either way)

Semi

IMT-TL: 3-0 or 3-1

C9-CLG: 2-3 (This will most likely be a battle of Darshan/Xmithie vs Balls/Rush or Sneaky/Hai vs Stixxay/Aphro)

Final

IMT-CLG: 3-2 (This will definitely come down to Huni/RO vs Darshan/Xmithie, we all saw what happened in the their 2nd game against each other)

Battle for 3rd

TL-C9: 1-3 (Liquid Curse)

Overall, TSM might show up, but they will have the hardest time getting to the final, NRG is a wild card but can still win, and there is the Liquid Curse. IMO favorites to win are C9, CLG, IMT, and maybe TSM if they get their shit together.
