I really hope in a Fnatic win

I might be biased since i am EUW, but what they did in worlds was awesome: they showed how you can play many different things effectively and win. Like season 1, they are teaching the world again how to play League of Legends.

But they are not the best team, others trained more in same strats and mechanics and that is strong too, so much that strategic diversity alone can' t win alone games. Having them win worlds makes their way to play have a stronger mean, and actually help the overall culture of the game. It is not necessary however, and in any case i hope this experience will carry on.

Game 3, it doesn't look like Meiko is comfortable on Kennen support... not only not hitting enemies with the ult, but not even effectively zoning them. EDG took Kennen only for deny to FNC it seems.

SPOILER ALERT ( can people downvote me? just to put this post under all the others)

In the end Fnatic got the upper hand, but i was left weirded out and unsatisfied after the remade of the second game ( the third chronologically): EDG felt a bit of edge, and the fourth felt uninspired ( is the right term?).

Overall i am glad not only Fnatic won, but that also EDG showed up that they could keep up with Fnatic on the strategical level, even if in the end resulted in a massacre.

I agree that EDG seemed defeated already before game 3 started.

I would like for EU to have two semi-finalists, but with Koro1 back EDG should look a lot better than during the group stage. And their draft already looks very scary - if they didn´t drop it EDG are still the strongest Team to play TF in the world.

Jayce and Kennen ADC though...gotta love both teams.

Edit...coming in ill and without much practice, stil performing like he did at MSI. With Koro1 back in shape this tournament has gotten a lot more interessting now.

Yeah i agree, loving that Jayce!

That makes me more scared about a Fnatic loss honestly, knowing that they managed to ditch an adc by their own like that.

oh my, while it´s bad for Fnatic - I´m really happy to see EDG back in shape. They´re just such a fun team when they´re on their A Game.

Edit: If they continue on this level both teams look like they can Challenge SKT for the title, really a shame they had to meet in quarters already.

yesh, Fnatic have been throwing a lot in match 1, mostly the rek'sai.

But everything changed when teamfights and objectived happened. Holy hell and i tought they were doomed since they did not manage to use properly the early utility of adc kennen!

EDIT: i try to avoid spoilers, but the last engage was gut-wrenching. I almost felt that!

Yeah, Kennen strength in the team fight but close range. Jayce should be used more for long range poke before the fight, but EDG only fought that way once because they went with so many teleports and split pushing.

EDG failed to pull off their own comp- Jayce did nothing entire game, J4 got the game for Fnatic - solid pick.

I agree, that Jayce was promising but did not really manage to bring that edge to the game. Also since Fnatic had hard close fight engages Jayce mostly used only half of the kit. Still the hammer + speed portal was treathening enough to not attract too many ganks, even with only a defensive summoner, and that allowed him to keep teleport.

I'm an NA fan but I'm definitely pulling for Fnatic and Origen. It would be great to see a western team actually defeat the Asian teams at worlds. Hopefully the EU fans will be humble in victory and I won't regret cheering for the EU teams.

I don't matter much, i am more concerned about what those victories might mean to the game.

Sadly i see many teams more and more focused on same compos and prefer to work on mechanics and execution. Fnatic gives the impression to have trained also in flexibility, and i hope that will be rewarding enough for them since strategic diversity wasn' t that big for LoL for a long time, and now that is opening up more i really hope that it will be rewarding.

But yeah i have a soft spot for Fnatic for other reasons :D

Yeah, I've really been enjoying the champion diversity in this worlds. I believe the last count I heard was 71 which is awesome. Hopefully Riot keeps going down this road and encourages even more diversity with their ADC reworks next season. I agree that the team that should win worlds is the team that is most flexible and able to play a wide variety of team comps.
