They have build a success through constant upsets. Their run through the gauntlet was amazing, every game they fought, the casters and analyst doubted them.
Even now into worlds, they have yet to win major caster/analyst vote. Yet, even against their biggest opponent FNC, they still win.
Their entire story this split and in this world has created a huge fan base. I'm happy

Wel TSM is in third place where most people expected them to be in. C9 is in top in the group where most expected them to be in 4th

Anyone else wonder if Wildturtle made Imp cry when he belted Kalista with the smack from Morde's mace, and almost deleted him with that single hit alone? A full health Kalista, no less. I think that GODV using the zhonya's at that point, rang the death knell for Imp when the "alone" requirement was met. And people will pooh-pooh TSM's win, saying "Oh, LGD was tilting...LGD is underperforming," but LGD is still a scary team. With the final days of group stage coming fast, I'm not counting LGD or TSM out at all. Sometimes, all it takes is that one spark to ignite an inferno. That single win, to give the team that wake up call or start the engines. Me, I'm rooting for TSM to use the momentum from this win wisely, and either make that run I believe is still in them, or force a tiebreaker scenario, and get through to the bracket stages.

Some play with nothing to lose and everything to prove, and they fight for everything they can get no matter how improbable. (C9, PAIN) The other gives up before it starts, blames the luck of the draw, and just mails it in as soon as things go south because "well, we were supposed to lose anyway" (TSM)
This year Hai said in an interview "I dont think of as underdogs because I need to make calls that a winning team would make"
I remember last year in Worlds in an interview with Regi he said something like "At the end of the day, we are here to learn, we dont expect to win anything, at the end of the day its a good experience for the future and at the end of the day its the end of the day so we will just see what happens at the end of the day"

Kallyandranoch1 votesI agree with this. TSM having a victory only shows how hard LGD tilted. I won't say CLG surprised me, because i always expected them to be in top 2.
C9 and OR though, those are really big surprises. xPeke more than anyone is really exceeding my expectations. I am also happy for Pain, who is somehow a threat, what is more than any IWC has been so far. Obviously they won't be top 2, but if someone plays sloppy against them, they will take the game.
Really happy with worlds so far.

CLG while being 2-1 looked terrible in their loss and made a ton of mistakes in one of their wins. I doubt they will even get out of groups to be honest
TSM looks trash and is trash. They beat the super tilted LGD with the strongest team comp ever due to LGDs awfull pick and ban. Might aswell call it Bjerson and Friends because thats the only reason they will win games, and they wont get out of groups either

Its 1 loss, to a team that lost to flash wolves. I dont understand why people gloss over that fact. Koo, lost to flash wolves. If anything CLG was too over-confident and got punished for it. Now, I'm not saying that CLG is going to just stomp them the next game, but to gloss over the fact that Koo dropped a game to one of the worst teams in the group atm, is pretty crazy. It shows they are also not as good as people thought they were, and shows they CAN drop a game to possibly any team in that division. Personally, the top teams trading games or beating each other isn't as important as the freebies taking games they shouldn't win. Ask alliance. Losing games to bottom teams is what comes back to bite you in the ass more than dropping a game to the 1st or 2nd seed.
CLG did look awful that game. But, I dont understand how they just are considered trash all of a sudden, and people just ignored that flash wolves win like it didn't happen.

CLG looked bad in 2 of their 3 games so far, and I'm not confident that they can get out of groups as much as I would be confident in a team such as KT or Cloud 9. I think that CLG have to prepare for their game against the Flash Wolves better next week so that they can have 2 wins and 1 loss for their record next week, only losing to the Koo Tigers.

I mostly agree with this..
One good sign for TSM from the LGD game was that Lustboy actually played some League of Legends- for the 1st time since spring I think. Now if only TSM had a jungler so they weren't play 4v5.

Earl Eulrich1 votesoh well, not even exceeding so much - i´ve said before worlds that C9 is the most dangerous NA team coming in, as they just adapt so well to changes due to their high game-intelligence. That being said they still play fairly predictable so far and might be exploited later on: It´s mostly siege/fastpush...and so far people picked comps into it that had to get close to fight, which is just really insanly hard to do vs an Azir/veigar+morgana+a darius waiting for you. If teams start to pick poke-comps vs C9 they might get troubles with their drafts though (a Varus lastpick would have made a rather easy game for Fnatic). also, so far worlds proof that morgana might be worth a ban.

If you let them have Azir + Tristana then they'll take them and do what those champions do best. But we haven't seen yet what will happen when an opponent doesn't let them have Azir + Tristana, either banning them or picking them away. I very much doubt the answer will be "lay down and surrender".
MrWasjig1 votesI never doubted C9. Especially when they managed to secure a place a Worlds in the first place, that really shows how determined they are for one thing. I might be rocking the FNATIC icon right now but that's only because I can't decide between my two favorite teams. The FNC vs C9 match was great to watch and I was going to be happy no matter who won. I just hope C9 continue their performance and that FNC pick up the pace a little. They're lacking compared to their 18/0 Summer Split.
