Predictions Worlds 2018
All right guys, draw has been completed let's get the hype started! I can't wait for worlds to start and for pick 'em to open so I'll post my predictions right away. Feel free to discuss and tell us your own predictions/reasoning. I haven't followed every region, mainly just EU and watched some of the play-off games of LCK, LPL and NALCS, so I might be misjudging certain teams/regions.
Play-Ins I haven't watched or followed any of the smaller regions, but I think it's pretty obvious that EDG, G2 and C9 should easily get first spot in their group and make it through play-ins like their 3rd seed did last year. As for Grex, I think Gambit has a high chance of beating them and take that #1 spot which is crucial to not get matched against one of the major region teams. LMS, based on the seasonal score board, is more than ever a 1 team region (usually there's 2 teams doing well). Is this because FW got that much better or because the rest got worse? Either way, I have little faith in their third seed and predict Gambit to make it out.
Group Stage Group A: 1 Afreeca Freecs 2 Flash Wolves 3 Phong Vũ Buffalo Order is pretty obvious so far, the question is where the 4th seed will land. This depend on which team gets in here and I think that EDG, G2 and C9 will all have a 50/50 against FW.
Group B 1 RNG 2 Gen G 3 Vitality RNG vs GenG will be a close match up as the past has proven (they've been placed together in groups for the third time in a row now, with GenG's former name SSG). If the 4th seed is EDG or C9, they'll probably take third spot.
Group C

- MAD Again, I don't have much faith in LMS' 2nd seed and I don't see them winning against G2 or EDG, both of which will have a close match up with TL but I think TL should make it through.
Group D

- 100T Fourth seed is guaranteed to be from LMS or a wild card region so this means that team will get the fourth place. At first I thought all 3 of these teams would be evenly matched, but after watching LPL finals, I think IG is far beyond NA and EU standards as they just barely lost the bo5 against RNG. I have faith in #1 EU seed and Caps to get second spot, though. Yes I'm a fanboy.
Knock out Korean teams only losing to other korean teams, maybe RNG can take one down but I expect Korean champions once again. Let's hope I'm wrong and that Korea gets crushed! nohatetho.
