LCS = The most BS waste of time

I love how we see 10 of the same champs out of like...125 champions to play. I love when they take 10 minutes in champion select when they KNOW themselves that they're going to pick the same backwash stupid ass champions. Do you guys think that there will ever be a team that will use champions that aren't current meta? I'm actually surprised that people waste their time going into those stadiums when they know what champions to expect. It's never an actual surprise when they're in champion select. What IS it exactly that makes the teams in LCS pick the same few champions? Is it because they're broken/overpowered or something? Do they not find any interest in using champions we rarely see to impress or even TRY to ENTERTAIN the crowd? I don't know, i feel like all champions have great potential and i felt like if there was more diversity in the LCS it would inspire people who play ranked and normal matches to use different champions aside from all of the Ashes, threshes, warwicks ect. I kind of find it disappointing how there are so many well-thought-out champions that Riot has come up with, but people still refuse to try to master someone rarely seen. I sound like a hipster so imma stop there.

OH YEAH! You have to credit all of the shoutcasters though, because they manage to come up with the most amount of bullcrap about EVERY game with the same champions. They somehow manage to spew up new stuff for HOURS a day to talk about for every single game even though its the SAME.DAMN.THING...

These are just the ones that come to mind quickly, without even digging in deep for the more obscure ones. Oh, would you look at that, more than 10 champions for one position out of 5 possible positions.

Perhaps your problem is that you haven't watched enough LCS to know what's even going on?

People in LCS play a different game then we do so they value different things. Sivir is always chosen because her ult is insanely powerful when used correctly. Ezrael is popular because runeglave Ezrael is op as fuck right now. Gragas has some of the best disengage of a jungler and Rek Sai gives unparraled vision and tracking of opponents. We play for fun but LCS play to win. With so many components to LoL it's hard to keep everything balanced and when one strategy or champion is even a bit more powerful or useful than another, the entire meta is created around it. In a highly competitive environment you take every advantage you can get.

And people do break the meta sometimes. Look outside of NA and EU. There was a riven and a draven a few days ago in LPL i think. Saw a twitch there too.

No. That isn't what they are paid to do. They are paid to win. And they pick the champions they feel gives them the back chance to do just that.

funny, 8 million people seem to have watched the world finals. About 150-250k watch lcs every week

If it's not for you don't watch it. Personally, I like it, but I only watch one-two games a week.
