In all seriousness, did C9 get paid off?
The game 5 draft against WE was so insanely stupid that the only explanation I can think of is they got paid off tbh.

i think coach said "ban galio" but his english was so bad it sounded like "ban ganlo" and sneaky was like "wtf ban rumble?" "yah yah." "ok coach" rumble is banned. "no, no! I said galo."
Looks for comments about the moon landing
there's absolutely no way LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PROFESSIONALS would unironically draft the way c9 did in game 5
please someone try and prove this wrong
I think the Xayah ban was a cry for help. Made no sense to ban that champion. They were letting us all know “Hey guys, we made bank!”
I mean... it’s not like China has a history for being humble and fair at sports. This is the same country that forged an 11 year old olymlpian’s birth certificate so she could compete in the Beijing games...
HELLO C9? THIS IS WE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT.
They had to win a few games before the Chinese offered them a bribe. They got into win range and suddenly they start drafting like 2nd graders high on sugar.
Is it so hard to ban the kog??? TF C9...
Hopefully they got paid off. If they didnt then thats the most shameful daft phase I've ever seen in worlds play. They should be ashamed either way
There's literally no way it wasn't scripted. letting that comp through with C9 banning champs they play in game 5 was such a sign that something was off.
i can say the same thing about team WE. Did you see their jungler in game 1? It was like watching a bronze player for the first 10 minutes.
And its not like he did much better in the other games. The first time I've ever seen someone miss their body slam in gragas from almost melee range >.> like wtf???
So. no. C9 didn't get payed off, like the other team didn't. Stress happens quite often during those situations. And they most likely chosen to not ban kog because they thought they got an answer to it.
Yea it's not like WE didn't get outdrafted in game 2 and 3. C9 just wasn't as good as people thought they would be.
Call me crazy but.. This has me theorizing that Worlds are to Esports as WWE is to wrestling; fake.
They ban xayah because they want a strong laning phase in bot lane. What baffels me was that rumble ban because WE is not known for playing around a strong top lane. 957 has always been a weak point in WE and TSM has proven that. C9 wants to try a Shen early game comp which I can understand, but they really shouldn't let galio goes through because that will put this comp entirely useless. Anyway, it's just a mistake from the entire team. You can't expect people to be perfect in this high pressure situation.
scripts. Look at game 4 Impact literally flashed into J4 lmao
I had this thought when I saw SKT pick and ban. Compare to champs they played before. I say it's quite possible this world's matches is rig.
And their banning of xayah was dumb. I don't think C9 is that incompetent at this game. WE played Kog last game and dominated their xayah. They ban xayah, xayah was their pick not WE's. Why ban a champ that you had picked and had poor results last match. Their sensible ban would have been kog.
They not banning galio is understandable. But their pick for orianna seeing how it didn't went well last game is another that does not make sense.
Conspiracy theories, conspiracy theories everywhere.
Typical NA fans with your conspiracy theories, it can't be cloud 9 making a mistake so they must have been paid off.. silly attitude to have.
nope. their drafts have been mind blowingly stupid in a good chunk of their loses
I mean the bans and picks weren't good but hindsight is 20/20.
Clearly C9 wanted to win early through bot lane, with Caitlyn, Lulu and Sejuani, backed up by a Shen top. They banned some early game champions away from WE, like Rumble and Jayce. They weren't afraid of the Kog'maw because they expected to win before it had time to scale up. They also gave up the Galio ban because FNC was able to beat it yesterday, thinking they could do the same.
The draft mostly speaks of overconfidence on C9's side. Yes it could have been better, but it isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
My guess is they tried something different to impress you "fans" (Ugh, always the same picks at Worlds!) and obviously its a stupid idea to not play the absolute best.
But now the "fans" think they threw on purpose, meanwhile there have been asinine amounts of cries regarding the "stale" worlds meta, and suddenly when a team pulls a fast one and plays like absolute idiots, they're getting paid off instead of trying to appease players!
Wow, I still can't even fathom how you think there is a market for rigged League of Legends games.
And someone suggested scripts!?
I just checked on their draft. What's so bad about the draft?
