Ummm, so about LGD

No offense guys, but who swapped out the teams when "LGD" came to worlds. Seriously, this is a team that was challenging EDG for "best team in CN" when they were on point during the LPL. Now they're getting stomped by TSM? TSM didn't even look like they should be in contention for a worlds seed through most of this last split. What the hell LGD?

Apparently they changed coaches between LPL and worlds.

This^

They lost their head coach within a month of the tournament and who ever this new guy is, I've never heard of him, isn't making the cut. Their pick bans are terrible and the pressure of defeat is wearing on them and they are starting to play poorly.

Make no mistake there was a reason this team was so highly rated and no one predicted this kind of self destruction, they are capable of performing with the best however the team has hit turmoil at the worst possible time.

Yeah, I mean that makes a lot of sense. CLG always had hype but failed due to internal struggles. If the coach leaves and was a big part of team cohesion and strategy that would throw most teams. That's really disappointing though.

Damn, I didn't know that. Why did their coach leave?

He wanted to have more money... as i know he wanted to get paid like a korean coach in china... apperently he got less. Hes also the coach that brought Royal Club into worlds finals. LDG didnt want to pay him what he obviously deserved to have so he said bye bye. (something along the lines: If u think im not worth as much as a Korean coach i will leave).

Well seems like they should have just give him a fair payment.

Yeah I saw a reddit post. Some of it is probably just rumor translated from CN rather than cited from a major source (like the claim that GodV insulted the coach when he left), but from what I can tell it seems to be accurate that a big part of it was them bringing in a new coach. It wasn't just that he was getting paid less, but that the coach for VG was getting paid so much more, having less results, and was being brought over to "help w/ some ideas" but was becoming the new coach. I can definitely understand why you would want to leave if they were bringing in someone to do your job and switching things over already. It's better to look a little bad while leaving than to be the face of someone else's work, imagine how much worse it would be for him if the team collapsed but he was still listed as the head coach even though someone else was doing that work within the organization and just hadn't officially taken over the contract yet.

LGD has gone on complete tilt since the game 1 upset. One of the biggest collapses in sports history.
