Neat Statistic about Worlds
With Game 2 of IG/KT, Aatrox was not picked. As of now, there are zero champions at worlds with 100% pick/ban rates.
The last time there was no 100% Pick/Ban champion was in Season 3.

Cherry-picking. Kalista requires skill, so it's kind of acceptable if she is strongest pick in the game. Aatrox definetly not, same with urgot. Best worlds so far was at season 6 where about 100% pick and ban was only nidalee and syndra. Both require skill. This worlds there are 6! champions with pick over 80%. All of them require almost zero skill. What you can fail On Urgot, Aatrox, Xayah, Kai'sa, Irelia ?

Literally not an argument lol.
"I don't think these champs require skill so it doesn't count."
Why ? You could missplay Kalista way more then Aatrox. So who should be around 100% ban rather Kalista or Aatrox ?
And still if I remember math correctly it is 2<6 in favour of season 6.

Aatrox, as of playins, had a 27% win rate despite being 100% P/B. contention. As of main event (despite it still going on), he has around a 55% win rate. Good, but not unstoppable (Btw). Also no longer 100% p/b
In 2017, Kalista had an 80% win-rate at worlds play-ins despite being 100% P/B In Main Event, she had 100% ban rate.
There is no contest here: Kalista was by far the stronger pick than Aatrox in all stages of 2017 worlds, despite the proposed "easiness" of playing Aatrox.
Source for 2017. Champ stats are in playins/main event tab 2018 Source. Still going on so subject to change.
How much skill does kalista requier? It's just a unique mechanic that's not that hard
Nice to see that while winning is everything, it isn't absolutely everything, and they had a different gameplan they wanted to play :-)
This....flew right over my head yo!

I actually had to go back and check.
2017: Kalista 100% P/B 2016: Nidalee 100% P/B 2015: Gangplank 100% P/B 2014: Alistar 100% P/B.
Closest 2013 got was Zed at 94%
Wasn't Syndra 100% along with Nid in 2016?

She was up there but not 100%. I had to check a worldspedia for the info.
Even in Season 3 (The last worlds without a 100% p/b), Zed was around 95% P/B contention.
EDIT: Champ stats for 2016. Syndra had a 97% P/B rate. Close but not 100%
Ah, okay, thanks. I haven't followed worlds too hard in the past, I just remembered her being all over the boards that year.

Don't feel too bad. I actually had to go back and check once I saw Aatrox didn't get picked.
