No they arent. They are the only non Korean team in worlds semifinals. EU outperformed NA this year...AGAIN....deal with it.

So when TSM said "anything other than top 4 would be a failure" what they meant was "anything less than last would be a failure". I'd say they achieved that by bombing out spectacularly in groups. NA logic is so awesome.

Not really. EU hasn't taken a game off of KR or NA at worlds. And only got to the semi's because they dodged the Korean teams in the quarters. They haven't performed better at all.

EU at semis again. NA out in quarters this year. I guess that's an improvement from last year. Like I said, whatever makes you cry yourself to sleep at night.

Why would you feel bad for EU? They've made semis every year, except one, even when nobody expects them to do anything. NA on the other hand ...

With how far they've gotten aside, this is also H2K. If you even watched this team throughout the entire season, you either see them dominating or confused and exposed. Welcome to how the latter feels.

How far you get in Worlds is literally the ONLY thing that matters. Nobody gives a crap how you played in the reg season or regional playoffs, if you perform at Worlds. And, yes, I agree Korea is head and shoulders above all other regions and teams from said regions are terribly inconsistent, but at the end of the day how far you made it at Worlds is what people remember.

It kinda does when you can think about what kind of team will show up granted how they looked going into the tournament. You may not give a crap because you don't watch it. But at least knowing what the team is prone of doing in means of performance is at least something.

Although true, not everyone just remembers "how far a team makes it" and just that. I'm one of those people and if you don't like that, oh well.

I did watch both NA and EU LCS throughout the year. Based on that, I expected TSM to do really well and G2 to barely get out of groups. Also based on expectations, EU fans will consider this Worlds a success, while for NA fans it's another missed opportunity. You never know what you're gonna get out of EU, NA and China at international competitions. One thing remains constant, though. When other regions meet Korea they usually lose. H2K earned the right to skip Korea in the quarters by beating China in groups. Today's result was no surprise.

You've proven my point then. It doesn't matter what fortune they came across to get where they are. On the given day a team either shows up or shuts down, and every team had something about them that could be a warning sign based off of the season coming into the event.

It's not entirely about win or lose or even Korea beats all. H2K showed up with a low floor despite coming into it with a high ceiling, but you have the degree of competition to thank for that illusion. Anyone who looked beyond that and reflected back to the H2K that was not only in summer but even week 1 GS could've paved a possible outcome rather than just writing SSG better with as simple of an explanation of because they're Korean with a winning streak. It's not a surprise but it is unfortunate.

I didn't actually disagree with you. What I said was that Worlds is the benchmark people care most about. And then it's a battle of who gets to be distant second to Korea. It's nice to see how teams/regions perform against each other, but their weaknesses are always exposed in a best-of vs the more disciplined Koreans. It is what it is.

So EU and NA have the same number of semi wins at 0. While every other region has made it to the finals.

ah well, they have done far better than expected...sure, it´s sad to see them falter back to old habits instead of preserving their form from the last two weeks. But all in all it had been a hugly successfull tournament for them.

i don´t really know for what those team pay their analysts though...after quarters it had been thoroughly clear that you need to prepare a counter to zyra botlane and that karma does not win against zyra. The Korean team did just that and brought the MF pick to semis, H2K though just faltered and got outdrafted 3times for it (and it´s not even that hard to counter her, just pick a damn morg, be save, land some cages and win the game).
