CLG Deserves WORLDS

I'm Sick and Tired of people saying that CLG doesn't deserve to go to WORLDS but instead C9 or Immortals should take their place instead.

Spring Split now MATTERS, it's not just Summer Split but the whole year now. Riot finally made Spring Split useful and more productive than just a Split of not getting relegated as it was for close to 3 years.

If it wasn't for CLG at MSI NA would not have a 1st Seed for WORLDS but as far a NA alone goes it's irrelevant.

Cloud 9 was eliminated in the First round of the spring split CLG Advanced in the first round of the Summer Split

Cloud 9 Lost in the Finals of summer CLG WON in the Finals of the Spring Split

Cloud 9 eliminated - Lost CLG advanced - Won ?????

While Immortals did beat CLG in the 3rd place of the Summer Playoffs, Immortals did not have enough points to make it to worlds as they too didn't win a single split after 2 great regular season splits but they too were eliminated in the 2nd round in both Splits.

So Please realize that CLG deserve to go as they actually won a Split something that C9 or IMT haven't done in either splits.

If they deserve to go, they'll have no problem getting through the gauntlet rounds. They haven't looked very good this split, but they still have time to fix it and get to Worlds.

Something wrong with your post. You are using the word deserves not earned. They earned the points and earned the right to be trash at worlds. They did this by be the strongest when NA was at its weakest, and being mediocre when NA got its act put together. Congrats?

Personally points should be 3rd seat after the gauntlet and the gauntlet should also give points for moving through it. How this would look i am not sure, but more weight needs to be on the 2nd seed for current performance getting 4th at the end of the split is not inspiring.

winning the 1st half of a split give to many points for a meta that riot has proven that is willing to change at a drop of a hat. Inflexible teams get punished by Riots last minute changes and look like jokes on the world stage.

TBH if Riot didn't give so much point to 1st place Team in the Spring split, CLG nor H2K would of get to go They really fall off the meta and are playing really bad and there is no excuse for that.

You can make the argument that CLG deserves to go to world's but your arguments are pretty bad. Winning Spring split only matters artificially (because riot said so) and doesn't make them a better candidate to represent NA in the present, same thing with the msi argument. Since league changes so much, past accomplishments is a sub-optimal argument. Also the argument that they advanced in semis while c9 didn't in spring is also bad for both the previous reason, and the fact if you look at the context c9 was unlucky tsm got 6th and had to face them in quarters, both CLG and c9 lost to finalist tsm.

Personally I would argue for current merits because those are what matter Ex. They had plenty of support staff issues coming into playoffs which could explain why their drafts were suspect, and since the trio of imt, CLG, and c9 are incredibly close, it won't be a huge travesty if CLG goes instead of say imt.

I'm all for CLG going to worlds. Whether they'll actually win a game there all depends on how lucky they are at group selection (as unless they nab a FW/SSG/H2K pool then they're almost certainly not going to finish with more than 1-2 wins). I'll post my "tier list" for the worlds teams once all of them are announced, but as it stands right now I'd rank CLG around the mid/bottom with the likes of SSG and I-may.

I really think we need to cut them some slack... TSM was on a whole other level this split... IMT and C9 were only slightly better than CLG. So adding all that up CLG can be easily placed in the 2-3 spot if they play either team gain.

Though, I think that this should serve Riot as a lesson that they need something better than the point system to assure we get the best possible teams at worlds. Even if that means only guaranteeing the #1 spot, and having to play for the other two.

If c9 or imt should deserve to go to worlds than they should have won more. That's it.
