Something I don't understand... (Worlds)
After the finals of SKT vs SSG, Faker was seen crying on stage after SKT lost the series 3-0. Completely understandable as we all know how seriously he takes the game and his desire to be a world champion. After seeing this, the whole community (myself included) is saying things along the lines of "Faker :(" "RIP Faker" or "Faker played so well, so sad to see him cry :(" Also understandable as this is the guy who has been the face of league for years, the undisputed best player of all time, showing his emotion after a crushing loss; the end of the SKT dynasty as the world champions.
Now, flash back to the Semi Finals, Rekkles on Fnatic did something very similar, and was seen crying in his chair after Fnatic lost to RNG. Also understandable - Rekkles, much like Faker, takes the game very seriously and expects to achieve great things, so anything short of the title is sure to be emotional and disappointing for him. However, this brings us to what I don't understand. After Rekkles was seen crying, the community's standpoint was along the lines of "What a baby, he needs to stop crying and get off the stage," "How unprofessional" or even "He's only doing this to strengthen his PR."
By no means am I trying to suggest anything along the lines of Rekkles being better than Faker, or demanding respect for Rekkles. I don't necessarily support either team. I'm just trying to state why I don't understand why the community's perspective on two similar scenarios was so drastically different for the different players, as Faker was given a lot of support for showing his emotion but Rekkles showing his emotion was frowned upon so harshly by the community.
