Pobelter is always outdoing his opposing laner and carries the team so hard with Xmithie, yet DL is the one who always gets the credit as being the team carry.
DL is only there to do damage bc the rest of his team is doing so well. Just look at all the games where they play 4 man protect the ADC with DL kog or kaisa (like when DL was on TSM in worlds last year too), they just get rick rolled. He absolutely can't solo carry
Anyone can carry, but it's not necessarily the reason he gets the credit to me. It's not about his player potential more than it is his value to the team and whatever team he's on. Of course everyone has their merits and those are quite often addressed just as much. But when you narrow it down to the general consensus, Doublelift especially this season was that one player that somewhat served as that heart and soul player.
Pobelter performed extremly good on the Finals but he has been the weak line of TL for a long time and he's not a consistent player.
He deserves praise for what he did, but dont rewrite story.
And you cant judge by the same standar an ADC and a Midlaner, that's just non sense.
Doublelift is consistent. Even if he doesn't get an insane amount of kills, he does his job and he does it well.
It's because he's a former TSM member.
By default all casters and anylsts are supposed to be huge TSM fans because of the over rated hype.
In all these games, all these previews, even in games that didn't have TSM or TL in them, they were talking about TSM and Doublelift and how Doublelift was on TSM, and how TSM used to have double lift, and Berg this, Berg that.

Really not a fan of Doublelift, his arrogance and bullying make for a terrible role model. He is full of himself and despite loving TL, he makes me cringe when I want to support TL cause I love the rest of the players.
it's the micro stuff you have to be a pro player to really understand. his ability to use leads, and keep his lane ahead to make sure the other lanes can stay ahead. he always has the most CS early game, and is so clutch when it comes to team fighting. he admits his strategy is linear, but he's the best at it, at least in NA.. Pobelter is decent, but he doesn't provide that same support to the team. Olleh is probably the best support Doublelift has ever had, because he's learned how to handle doublelift's cocky and rough personality.. honestly all of TL seems to be the first team to understand that DL isn't that bad, and to just get over his s**t and win. when he was on CLG and TSM they couldn't handle his personality, but this team seems to really click with him well, allowing him to carry them even harder..
another thing is, he is the attack damage CARRY he is supposed to get that lime light.. he's supposed to be that hard mid-late game carry that gets all the sick highlight reels. but it's his team that gets him there..
and i mean, look at TSM, they're trash without him.. they barely made 3rd.. but TL, a team with a mediocre track record, won back to back splits as soon as they sign DL.. whats the common factor in both TSM getting worse, and TL getting better? DL switching from one to the other..
Doublelift might very well be the best player in NA right now. and is for sure the best ADC.
people just love to hate him because he's an ADC with a cocky attitude.. everything the ADC memes are made of.
