Worlds format sucks

so we finally get all the best teams in the world together and we get to see them play.... ONLY 3 OTHER TEAMS. having a group stage just sucks - this is a fact, but you have to have one because there are too many teams at worlds. so how do you fix it? easy, just knock the number of teams down to 10. 2 from na, eu, korea, and asia, and then 2 from the play in round. there is no point to having a bunch of garbage teams at worlds that have no chance of winning and are just fodder for the decent teams. Taiwan being its own major region is a joke. that's like California getting its own region.

so then once you only have 10 teams you can have a seeding round where EVERY TEAM PLAYS EVERY OTHER TEAM ONCE. this alone would make worlds so much better - actually seeing all the teams play each other. it would be a similar number of games as the current group stage system except theres no RNG about teams getting into easy or hard groups. after the seeding round the bottom 2 teams are out then you have your 1-8 seeds for the best of 5 rounds. RITO PLEASE I WANT TO ACTUALLY SEE GOOD TEAMS PLAY AGAINST EACH OTHER AT WORLDS.

So like....season 3 only everyone is together? And like other tangibles we've all kinda gone back n forth over?

I mean was it really not enough that the 4 best teams made the top 4 at Worlds or has that been overshadowed by the 3-0 final?

no its not enough cus I wanna see teams play more than 25% of the other teams at worlds

Then just recommend larger groups in that case. Rather than 4 groups of 4, do 2 groups of 8 for a Worlds Group Stage if it's 25% we're looking for

I did - 1 group of 10. I already said its pointless to have all these crap teams at worlds. if its 2 groups of 8 you still only play half the teams

Clearly you can't be satisfied.

Just because there are teams that are expected to not make a big splash doesn't mean they don't deserve the right of having the chance to do so. Those "crap teams" bust their asses like the teams from regions above them to get the same opportunities. And you want change because they're not good enough?

In that case why not just propose the college football approach. Doesn't matter how good you perform in a league. If there's teams better than you based on a stupid panel, they get the right to play at the highest prestige. Everyone else can play for their domestic table scraps and cry themselves to sleep that they can't be recognized.

Put it that way and you just sound like an ass with no respect to the expanding League.

uhh yeah I can be satisfied. 10 teams and everybody plays everybody else. the crap teams DO have a shot to prove themselves - that is what the play in round is for. theres no reason to have more than 2 of them because it drags down the quality of the whole tournament

You never went over anything of the Play In though. And given that you're already down on teams of regions of lesser prestige, I doubt you'll give anything beneficial of it other than "1 team from every region" or something.

maybe you should actually read the op. I said take the top 2 teams from each major region and 2 from the play in round.

I stand by it. You never went over the Play In. I just have to guess that means every other region gets 1 team in some 8 team pool for 2 spots.

No thanks. That'd be regressing back to the IWC events. And with that, I rest my discussion.

having all the crap teams duke it out to see who deserves to go to worlds is a perfectly fair way of doing it. I value having quality, fair competition with no group stage rng at worlds and it looks like you just value having a bunch of useless crap teams cluttering up the tournament. I guess we'll just agree to disagree on what is more important

I think the easiest solution is to make 2 groups of 8 teams instead of 4 groups of 4 teams. BTW taiwan is > NA and EU. TW won worlds. You will respect
