Needs to be a 1 foreign player limit on teams

all these foreign players coming to NA is getting ridiculous. TSM is a European team now for gods sake and all of the star players from other regions coming here is really hurting the other regions.

Not really. It should serve as a spur for the local players to up their game. If they don't they deserve no slot.

so na players have to compete with the entire world for lcs slots? sounds fair. nobody even wants to watch eu lcs cus all their star players are over here in na.

and yet they still play a more entertaining lol than all the other regions, closing out games faster and playing again the best laneswaps worldwide. You don´t need "star-players" in a teamgame, at least if your team can make up for it like they do in EU (sort of the opposite of China, though again...QG currently is dominating there without any real stars apart from Uzi).

yeah I doubt that accounts for all the difference but that's not even the point. the point is that the best players from other regions coming to na is nothing but a detriment to those regions. they lose the talent and they lose the watchability of those players.

Yeh I completely agree I have no problem with the EU "stars" going to another region it just gives us more talent from our academies and ques, that's a good thing for our scene anyway.

However yeh there needs to be a limit on foreign players maybe 2 per roster? I say two as I think one is too small, and unfair.

There needs to be transfers for the good of the game and scene but let's not repeat the problem of the premier league in England and then take years to act and rectify to allow our own talent to bloom

No we will get more usually, people just look at 1 language and 1 streaming outlet which is not the real number.

EU LCS actually has more viewers...you guys just look at the official Twitch channel but lots of Europeans watch it on channels in their own language like french or german because they don't understand english that well.

When FNC played Origen in the Summer Split finals they had over 1 million viewers, compared to 600k for CLG vs TSM.

I'm glad some one said this I've said this I the past and also got no response, because NA players generally speak or atleast understand English they only look at the top channel.

Fr stream usually has 50-80k and that's on top of the 200-300 English stream, then the de stream with 30-60ish

Brazil Turkish German Spanish

And so on.

Then remember Spanish people don't use twitch much they prefer azubu and then x all the streaming outlets together and you get the real number, you have given an example I won't give another I just thought I'd list some languages before we get an NA hero calling bullshit, lol.

EU LCS is an absolute shit show compared to the LCK. Middle of the pack teams like Samsung and Jin Air look like they would destroy that clownfiesta in Europe. I mean just try to compare any top teams performances from EU to that Tigers and KT series.

That EU is not most entertaining LoL of all regions. Its absolute shit compared to KR, as always, just look at the difference between ROX vs KT and FNC vs H2K. In KR you had a very competitive series between two top teams. In EU you had two top teir teams completely terrified to commit to anything than fucking up when they did.

no whenever theres international competition (which is the main goal of every LoL team) the players always play for whatever country they are from.

Actually you regularly see people play for their home country after not making the US team in international competition (ie olympics). Sure, there are players that just go and play for them anyway, but most would play for the US if they could.

The issue is that the EU LCS doesn't pay players much at all. It's definitely more sustainable to play in NA because you make more money. You could argue that "They're playing games for a living! It shouldn't be about the money!" but at the end of the day they have to put bread on the table and secure a financially safe future. It's not like professional gaming has a lot of transferable skills in the job world.

Also, I like the idea that players can go where they like to play on whatever team they want. When you look at another popular international sport like soccer, you could consider the barclays premier league in england to be the most competitive. When looking closer at each team, there is a trend that not all 11, or for the most part, not even the starting majority are from england. A league where many of the participants are from the nation however is the spanish league. If you were to look at the competitiveness of that you'd notice that simply Barcelona or Real Madrid win every year, while the other teams more or less compete for third place. The same goes for the german bundesliga. I like the idea of better players going to the more competitive league for an overall better LCS that each region having 1-2 teams that don't really have to try until worlds.

yes when its bad for the sport. we already do that with the 2 foreign player limit. I just feel like it needs to be taken up one more notch so that each regions talent stays put.
