NO, it shows 3 things -A team has improved since -A team is good at best of fives -A team is just BETTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

it´s not meaningless...they got enough points to make it t the gauntlet in the regular season, otherwise they wouldn´t have had a chance to make it to worlds. And well, they made it through the gauntlet so they deserve to go to worlds. (i too would have prefered for TL or TiP to make it through, but well...in the end C9 made a good case for having diverse startgy/champion-pools and i think that´s actually a very good thing for the scene).

Blame TSM for not winning. That said, C9 earned this. They won the games when it mattered most and hopefully they carry this into worlds.

Please name a gauntlet team you would rather represent North America.

  1. C9 is clearly better than TL in MULTIPLE lanes. Fenix was outdone by the new guy in several games, Incarnation.
  2. TIP can only play one style. If they had gone to World's, they wouldn't have gotten out of groups.
  3. Gravity is too cheese reliant and can't play standard lanes to maximum effectiveness.

Plus it shows that Cloud 9:

  1. Plays Bo5's extremely well.
  2. Is a very a strong team this split (after Hai's inclusion).
  3. Was the 2nd strongest team last split.

That's what happens when you dump a really overrated slightly above average-ish at best jungler that doesn't fit at all with your team for a slightly below average-ish non jungler main that is an awesome fit to your team in a region with a kinda weak competition beneath top 2 spots

I rarely watch anything LCS related, but I thought people normally root for the underdog in situations like this... Seriously, it would be (even more) boring if the worlds teams lineup was decided right from the start with no chance for teams to make comebacks after losing some early games.

The regular season has more meaning now since you earn points by how well you play in the spring split rather than just surviving it. And well, uhm the better team won simply as that, because you know they rised above all the odds and won against higher ranked teams simply that they got their shit together.

I honestly feel bad for TL. C9 came in 7th place. Riot decides to let the last 4 teams see who is better even though TL was CLEARLY 3rd place. Nope. They had to let C9 try again.

I'm not saying I'm against C9, but holy shit I feel so bad for TL. They did so well, only to be beat. By the fucking seventh place team.

Well, no shit if you all you look at is their score without any context. The majority of games that C9 had lost was when Hai was not playing with them, that just shows how important Hai is for C9 and how hard C9 worked to beat all the other teams. You're acting like they got a free pass to worlds, completely ignoring all the hard work they put in to actually get that far.

Honestly, the regular season really does mean nothing past qualification to playoffs/qualifiers (and I suppose seeding). The regular season is made up of entirely Bo1s and is played on a variety of patches. The playoffs and qualifiers are Bo3/5s and are played on a completely different patch(es). Very different situations.

Yep.

Just think about it this way: If Sated had not been in the game, then Sated Shyvana could not have been abused in the last 2 games of C9's summer split, and C9 would have gone to relegation instead of going to the gauntlet and to Worlds. So Sated Devourer should be hailed by Cloud9 fans.

This breaks my heart as a Curse Fan for my entire League following of 3 years... Even Curse's Ancestors, Gravity and Liquid are cursed....

Nah, Hai can't play mid anymore. The only reason he is still playing is because jungle is less mechnically demanding and plays to his core strengths (map control, shotcalling, pressure). The real mistake was

1: not having the balls to dump Meteos for Hai jungle in week 1 2: Not picking Pobelter over Incarnation, though Incarnation clearly has a higher ceiling.

So, who would you have go to worlds, then? Impulse, that lost 3-1 to a team: With a terrible record as you note, While having the pick advantage, While the team came in for their 11-14th game in 3 days, While they had those 2 days to scout them?

Yeah, no.
