I was just about to post something about this. I logged on to the client this morning before I went to watch the vods for last nights match and boom. Right in front of my face. You'd think you'd have to hover over it for the spoiler at least. Seems simple and I'm pretty dissappointed
NFL, NBA, MLB, none of them have a spoiler-free function page, and ESPORTS should be no different. It takes away from the "Live" atmosphere of the game. I am assuming they want to push ESPORTS into the category of being broadcasted on television and millions of people tuning in to watch it. Spoilers come with the territory of sports.…
Best I can suggest, bookmark the VOD page on lolesports, and when you log in to play the game, do your best to just click play right away. I have done it many times without spoiling it for myself. Its hard to not have your eyes "gravitate" towards the client's main articles, but it is easily avoidable.
Yeah this is pretty frustrating. Especially when people have been complaining about this since back in September of 2018. Maybe they added the "spoilers" slider after that, but it hasn't solved the problem. We all know about riots issues with toggles... but you would think they would offer some way to hide the Esports panel. This might help their viewership as I know i have chosen not to watch a number of games as they have been spoiled for me.
If I'm looking forward to the results of a match, I now make it a point to cover my vision or parts of the interface (whether it's the client, youtube, or Twitter) with my hands, so i can actually watch stuff spoiler free.
I think SKT did but I'm not sure
Today, I think I'm glad I saw the spoiler so I don't actually have to watch. Just sayin.
To get no spoilers, you'll have to google it to get to the youtube postings. They don't have spoilers.
I gotta support this. I haven't been watching much MSI because Finals for school have been dominating my schedule, but now I've already been spoiled on the end result for most of the games :(
I'll still watch them anyway when my finals end this week, but it does kind of suck that I can't experience them with quite as much hype as I would've otherwise been able to.
