I completely disagree, though I imagine this is a matter that is 100% a matter of opinion. For one thing, Riv isn't supposed to provide analysis of the games, (which the biggest complaint I hear against him is that he doesn't provide insight into the games) because that isn't his job. He provides play-by-play, which basically means he talks about whatever is happening, while Kobe or Jatt provides the more detailed analysis of why stuff is happening. In football they have the same set-up, usually one retired pro and someone who just yells excitedly what is happening. And as for him garbling words that don't make any sense, I have seen him mess up a sentence a few times, but it doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother you. Anyway I am sorry you don't like his casting, but you asked other peoples opinion on him, so this is mine.
IMO the way he talks just makes each play even more exciting to watch. Dunno, he just has a cool voice and also you should probably learn what each of the casters job is before you start complaining.
