well this is how it breaks down

KOREA = CHALLENGER /MASTER EU/NA go up and down between plat and diamond Japan/China =gold to low plat South American /latin = silver and OCE = bronze

Riiiight... if ANX happen to win against H2K (which is possible), then a wildcard region will have a semi-finalist. On the other hand if C9 doesn't get past SSG (and they most likely won't), then that will make NA historically the weakest region at worlds (right now they're tied with wildcards, amazing huh?), as they have never passed quaterfinals. So you might wanna rethink your "ranking".

And what is that exception actually? Kr/Eu/Cn get out of the groups and reach semis/final on a regular basis (with exception of one season for EU), whereas NA has made it only 2nd time out of the groups. NA getting out of the groups - THAT is an exception and they're most definitely not above China.
