SKT Is Reminding Me Of An Old Hulk Hogan Match

Specifically, that point near the end where it seems like it's all over, they're down on their backs, and their opponents land the Finishing Move that has put away any enemy its hit.

But then Faker pops up to his knees, eyes wide as he breaths in and out hard, staring intently at the other team.

The other team throws a punch! No effect! Huni begins physically shaking from his own intensity.

Another punch! Still no effect! Peanut gets to his feet, shaking his head no as he starts walking around.

Yet another punch! Yet again no effect! Bang glares at the other team and wags a finger at them.

One more punch! Wolf blocks it! Counters!

Big boot!

Legdrop!

It's all over!

(Cue Korean version of Real American.)

On one hand, I'll be a little disappointed if it's SKT Skins yet again. On the other hand, goddang you can't say they haven't earned it this year.

Dude, you can't come in the Esports forum using fake wrestling for analogies. Didn't you get the memo that with the NBA buying out the LCS we can only use basketball comparisons?

Not over yet, as much as I hope. It's totally possible SSG could return and take them out. SKT as strong as they are, have looked -really- busted up this Worlds.

SKT are giving teams chances to win time after time again, a pretty tough group stage and constant 3-2 series in which I think SKT were down 2-1 and still won. If teams can win now, I think SKT will never lose. RNG were my pick before Worlds to win Finals against SKT and even tho RNG looked better than SKT in the series, they too were given the "leg drop of doom"

Now I know I'm not old enough to bask in those glory days but that's actually a really good analogy! And you're right; at this point you can't be that mad at just being the better team at the time. It's like it sucks that the winners were the same but who cares: sometimes the road and competition is just that good!

Yeah, the instant hogan was mentioned I remembered the match he had with Michaels at summerslam where Michaels was told he would be in a 3-match series, only to have it reduced to a one-off where Hogan was the winner, only for Michaels to do what is probably the single-greatest self-sabotaging performance of all time.
