About mid lane meta

So people don't play adc mid anymore in this meta?

Not for 4-5 seasons, unless you're talking about Keane's Graves mid, the mostly assassin Quinn mid, or the mostly mage Corki mid.

I watched a couple of lpl games in spring 2016 split mainly hyg vs omg and why is it that if one team picks like corki mid or some other adc, the other team locks in quinn instead of an AP mid? Is there any reason why quinn mid is locked in against other adcs mid?

Quinn, being mostly an assassin, is good against Corki, who is mostly a mage.

Ah cool, I was talking about graves, quinn, corki mid. Haven't see anyone play them yet.

Varus is a popular adc mid laner mostly in korea/china, but has been played a number of times in EU/NA. It's a really strong counter pick to azir who is first picked/banned in every region. NA had an ezreal mid last week as well.

If corki gets buffed enough then I'm sure he'll see mid lane play before he's played in bot lane.

So you seem to be talking about a very specific time during league when teams were running 3 adc comps. During this time corki mid was extremely popular and quinn was picked mid infrequently. I don't believe I have ever seen graves mid.

The game has changed drastically since then. Quinn, corki and graves all ate several rounds of nerfs following the triple adc meta and so did the items they were abusing.

I think it's unlikely you will see any of those champions mid this year with out riot buffing them.
