Why are double ADCs a thing this season?

I sort of understand lane swaps, roaming supports, and double jungling, I can even understand smite/tp top, but why have mid ADCs?

If the enemy team takes multiple tanks, you can take multiple adcs.

adcs beat tanks beat assassins beat adcs.

A big factor making it strong, the tank-heavy teams. double/triple tank comps make it so you need strong dps.

I'm guessing because tanks are more of a thing now. If you want to take tanks down, two ADCs won't hurt, or rather will hurt the tank!

To take out objectives quickly.

It was a thing for like 2 weeks, already no one does it anymore.

Double ADC has been a viable comp multiple seasons running. Season 4 (CLG, Curse, SK, MYM, and many more all ran it).

Eh, does it matter? Strategic diversity, people do what they want/can to win. If the enemy team has multiple tanks, it might be a smarter idea to have another adc rather than assassin if you don't think you have the skill to get past the frontline and escape (sorry for jabbing at assassin mains!) instead of being able to delete tanks like last season.

Joking aside, it sounds like a counter to multiple tank teams. As long as the team has a frontline (and not a team of squishies!), it's not a terrible idea.
