Blow outs are happening a bit more often nowadays

Maybe it's just me! Am I the only one noticing this? Like, holy crap, that last game was just paaaainful to watch ; ~;

My problem aren't as much 1-game blowouts, they're series blowouts. Like every series at Worlds.

Don't you miss how epic they were in season 4? Blow outs were RARE. It was so hard to see a game go 3-0. And even if it was a 3-0 it would be like 30-40 minutes each game, with each match being super epic.

Now? I expect blowouts. :(

Honestly I think it's because LCS teams don't have the mental fortitude to not tilt after losing. Only VIT and TSM have managed to pull out games after losses. Momentum means a lot in a best of series, but in LCS regions more than most. You saw it at worlds in the semis; EU team plays well game 1, looks like shit game 2 and 3.

5 game series are indeed rare nowadays. I don't think we had a single one at worlds. Actually the last 5 game series we had was EU finals/LCK semis/LPL finals. I think that's because most of the series just worked out to be mismatches, or upsets.

Actually in season 4, SSW set a record for the most dominate best of 5 against Blue. The score and gold differential across all three games were huge and its one of the worst blowouts of all time.

Also I'm pretty sure there was only 2 Bo5's that went the distance at worlds and both of them were the Chinese teams facing one another.

But it wasn't something that happened every other game. Yeah it was a terrible, horrific bloodbath of stomping. But it stood out. Nowadays, stomps happen every other game. :(

NA and China like to fight and die a lot and that cause a shit ton of blowouts. EU Taiwan and Korea (aside like g2) play the macro and play it well which is why they generally do better and have less blowouts. Like every OG and UOL game was basically 50/50 chance since both would just throw every game

You mean games where one team gets first blood and begins a bloody campaign, carrying out one injustice after another until the other team surrenders? Those complete steam rolls that leave both teams dissatisfied?

One possibility is the fact that many teams didn't adapt their drafts to season 6. According to many analysts, that was one of the major deciders of the quarterfinals. So perhaps it was a blowout because some teams weren't ready for the new patch.

Yeah blowouts are apart of the game now. Just sit back and enjoy a stomp for 20 mins (average game lengths now) watching the pro scene or playing the game is boring to me now. Enemy Team is up 2 kills or 1 tower might as well sit in the fountain until the 20 min surrender.
