uh, no. They carried themselves out by having a better record than EDG. They played the same schedule, split games with each other, both lost both games to SKT, but C9 didn't choke against AHQ in week one. They didn't win by some wonky tie-breaker scenario, they just had a better record than the other two teams.

Yeah people seem to be ignoring the fact that 2 of their 3 losses where to skt and they won 3/4 of their other matches. Sense when is losing 2 matches to a 3 time world champion team anything to be ashamed of. Other than skt they won almost all their matches. They put more wins on the board so they moved on plain and simple. If not for dropping the ball ONCE aginst edg they would have a 4-2 only losing to skt

I think this statement is unfair. C9 player really well in 1st week and then in 2nd week they just needed to win 1 game (like IMT) and they did. They went 3:3 which is fine considering they had one of hardest groups.

SKT can’t help them if C9 doesn’t win more games than the other 2 teams. C9 singlehandedly won 3 games. The other 2 teams didn’t.

C9 earned it.

C9 got the group of death. They'll take what they can get.

Group of death? What are you smoking? AHQ was one of the weakest teams of the tournament, and EDG was non-existent in week 1. It was practically impossible for C9 not to make it out of groups from day 1. All of the other groups were a lot more competitive.

I don't understand this EDG was bad week1 excuse. It isn't C9s fault another team didn't show up.

No, and neither am I saying that. What it means is that the level of play/competitiveness/strength of the group goes down. As a result, group A was relatively weaker than the other groups, and can therefore in no way be called a group of death.

Still into the group stages. Don't see TSM anywhere after 6 real attempts.

To be fair, I doubt SKT was thinking about C9 when playing their game. But I dont mind! C9 did great. They deserved it too!

They didn't get 'carried' out of groups. This just means that there isn't a chance of an upset from EDG in a tiebreaker. C9 did earn their spot though. Just like EDG would have earned it if they had made it.

Na so much excuse lol

TSM couldn't even be second in the easiest group still.

Group C was easily the "hardest" group. SSG and RNG.. idk why people are saying group A was hardest, AHQ and Edward completely sucked it up.

MysterQ1 votes

GroupC was the hardest group for a western team to succeed in. GroupA was definitely the second hardest group for a western team to succeed in.

No matter what you want to say, C9 got that win vs EDG.
