It happens because Crown and Arrow stupidly kept getting caught out.
Crown should change his name to Clown. After that throw in G1, there was no way Optic was coming back. I can’t imagine how tilted they were. I was extremely tilted and I don’t even care about either of those teams.
I would be lying if I said I didn't want Optic to lose and for CLG to be alive for Worlds. Sucks because I would gladly take Optic/Clutch/CLG or even 100 Thieves over a possible TSM potential seed for NA.
Good for CLG to sustain for 40+mins in a meta where if you do get behind you tend to lose straightforward.
Going to be interesting because the semi-finals will be polar opposites between the teams in some regards. Will Team Liquid want to face a more aggressive team like Clutch Gaming(MSI/Rift Rivals Team Liquid were matched against aggressive teams) or face against a team that's also a very controlled, methodical, slow paced objective controlled team like CLG?
If Team Liquid picks to face CLG I see Team Liquid winning 3-1. However, if TL picks Clutch I do see Clutch Gaming picking up the upset against the back-to-back-to-back NA Champions.
TL vs CLG: Team Liquid TL vs CG: Clutch Gaming C9 vs CLG: Cloud 9 C9 vs CG: Cloud 9
Considering how strong CLG was, I feel it’s a little unfair to make fun of Optic. I would have made a congrats post by now if Optic got reverse swept or lost to a worse opponent like TSM did.
