The Beginning of the End for Worlds

Now I know I'm gonna get some hate for this but I think it just needs to be said because this is really starting to bring my piss to a boil.

We already know SKT is going to win Worlds yet again this year, and for all intesive purposes, they are probably gonna do it again next year. Teams are gonna see that they have no chance at all against SKT so they are gonna stop caring about Worlds and LCS all together. After that, League is gonna start to lose all it's hype that's its been getting in the past year as an eSport. Riot is gonna see this, and either out right BAN SKT from Worlds, or put in Football rules and let coachs buy and sell players, both choices are gonna royally piss people off. I'm honestly concerned here. The SKT T1 League of Legends team is going to end up slowly but surely destroying LCS entirely. Riot more than likely is going to have to do something they dont want to do to keep the LCS scene running smoothly. We'll just have to wait and see what's gonna happen.

RIP ROX. RIP SSG.

I know it's not relevant to the conversation, but the correct phrase is "for all intents and purposes."

SKT didn't win Korea. Sure, they won worlds - but that's largely because the teams that beat them in Korea didn't qualify for worlds.

They are beatable. That's the point I'm making here if it isn't clear. They seem to put in a lot more work to knowing how to beat their worlds opponents. They play their game, every game. Every other team seems afraid of them. As much as the casters are giving credit to SSG and saying SKT is just playing well, SSG made some pretty inexcusable mistakes against them. Mistakes that SSG didn't seem to come close to making in any of their other matches. They tried way too hard in the early game to create a lead when the advantages weren't there - they never made that mistake in their other games. And the vision game early? How did SKT get vision of their entire red quadrant? Not because SKT made informed invades, but because SSG literally had no vision in their own jungle. Why was their early vision so lacking?

These teams seem to make a lot of mistakes against SKT that they don't make elsewhere. Teams in Korea beat SKT outside of worlds - but they seem afraid of them there. I mean, SKT definitely plays really well at worlds (probably better than they did in Korea) but the other teams should be able to step it up too.

A salary cap would be cool. It might balance teams out more possibly but there are always ways around it with sponsorships and such so who knows.

rox was very close to beating skt for the first time this year and maybe the rest of the world doesnt have the mental capacity to give it everything they have to win then ya no one will come close to Koreans and skt id be suprised if skt won again next year. i dont think some of the players will stay around but thats a different conversation. it really comes down to the mentality of the rest of the world compared to korea and skt. the vid lol esports posted called an eye on skt or w.e really shows it. kkoma said to duke after they won a game vs rox "i cant tell you you did a good job cause at that point getting better would be over, so ill just say you could have done better here." in america its about being told you did well, in korea its about being told where you can improve.
