Korea itself takes competitive gaming extremely seriously. They are just better trained, and honestly have some really good mid laners like Crown/Faker.
I believe its born out of the fact that lol has pretty much non-existent international competitive scene apart from IEM, worlds and MSI.
I think KR has additional tournies in addition to the ones already mentioned such as KeSPA and a few more that escape me.
The institution of the LCS concept effectively shut down most of the tournies so yeah, dunno how it would be in the future though.
Second year in a row that only Korean teams could beat Korean teams. Unless SSG loses the half finals, which I hope is the case but I doubt it. Go H2K / ANX ! Our last non-Korean hope!
