Fun and miserable worlds 2019 stats

I saw a comment about how

Each NA team lost as many games as all KR representatives combined.

And I thought stats like this would be refreshing to talk about instead of the witless "EU better than NA eat a burger" & "What you doing in NA boards you eu scum degen"

So, here are a couple,

The west may often be mocked but

All 3 KR defeats came at the hands of western teams

If someone is looking for good odds

You can get 18 times your money's worth if you bet on splyce and they beat skt (frankly it should be more)

Eu fans, calm down

EU teams lost 100% of their tiebreaker matches

And the groups MVP for the west goes to...

After groups, the best KDA for a western player belongs to...C9's Deftly with 7.

Someone tried their best for TL, and really stood out

Who do you think was TL's highest avg damage % in these worlds? Well, it was Impact with 27,4% of his team's damage. Very impressive considering he played Sion twice.

Rabbit style or turtle style?

The team with the fastest average game time was G2 (28:56) while the slowest were Fnatic's games(36:32)

So, what other stats do people find interesting?

Impact's damage shouldn't be impressive. If you are on tank duty twice, you shouldn't have the highest damage share. It shows probems with Jensen, Doublelift, and Xmithie. It is not a bonus for Impact.

I thought impact was by far the most impressive player in TL's roaster. And that's in a group with theshy and nuguri...

Hard agree, he was definitely TL's biggest bright spot. He held his own vs Nuguri and TheShy 2 of the best toplaners in the world and even made some game saving/winning plays.

He is a bright spot on a team of dark under performers (aka Jensen, Xmithie).

Impact and corejj were the only 2 pulling their weight tbh.

Two thoughts on this.

First, Sion's damage is sneaky, but can be high. Each of his abilities can deal damage to multiple targets. Chaining his skills well can mean a fair amount of damage on most of an enemy team and result in a big overall damage spike.

Second, I'm not sure why you're bringing up tanking and damage share while simultaneously blaming Xmithie for low damage when all he played was tanky champs? Can you deal a good amount with Grag, J4, and Olaf? Sure. But not as much when you're the jungler and not trading like the laners do. He was also clearly meant to be a fight initiator to set up carries to damage. The fact he basically only plays tanks, isn't aggressive, and can't carry are issues. However, knowing all that, who expects him to have damage on par with Jensen and DLift?

Well, I agree with most of what you said, but when someone starts off 3-0 on AP gragas in season 9 meta. He can do more than what Xmithie did in that game.

Having said that, I think Xmithie didn't underperform in Worlds, I think he gave what he could give, and responsibility lies with TL org for keeping a player that although consistent, doesn't have room for improvement.

I really like the guy though, I think he could really help another NA team but TL need to get someone else to compete in the international stage.

I think impact was by far the most consistent TL member over the 6 games that they played, and he had by far the most difficult opponents, while given little to no edges from the draft. CoreJJ was pretty solid. Doublelift didn't deliver what he should have based on how bot centric TL is. Jensen was underperforming the worst of them all. He seemed lost vs Rookie and Showmaker.(in his defence, he doesn't have a lot of experience facing midlaners that are even equal to him, let alone blatantly outclass him)

And that Dragon contest was their doom after having a very good early game vs DWG :/

I'm a fan of Xmithie too. He's not a jerk and since I was a tank main in WoW his jungle style is generally how I'm most comfortable playing LoL. Problem is, that doesn't always work. They do need more flexibility, and I think NA in general need to consider subbing players a lot more. If you want Xmithie in roster for matchups when you want a tanky teamfight initiation player, great. But also try to find an aggressive early ganker/invader to swap off for other matches. If you want to keep Xmithie though, they really do need to address their main carries, because Jensen and DLift repeatedly flop on international stages. They need flex subs for these guys too.

Subbing is great until you leave the NA MVP on the bench in favor of Blaber.
