Personally I think this World's has already proven more exciting than last years

Just in terms of straight competition, we have upsets and comebacks left and right. I know the more jaded among you might disagree, but I think it's awesome that it's not just the "Korean and some other guys championship."

no laneswaps so far means a much more interesting game to watch, because you get to have an early game too instead of tower trading and skipping straight to the midgame, it allows both laners and junglers to showcase their individual skills a lot more before transferring to how good their teamplay is

It's exciting because NA and wildcard regions are showing up big

It's been both exciting and terrifying for me because I get to see my main in most of the games (kennen). this means he is about to be nerfed into the ground

It's definitely one of the most exciting first weeks, but let's face it, these games don't mean as much as next weeks games when teams can be eliminated. We've seen some upsets in the first week, but as someone who remembers C9's 3-0 first week, the second week is the true litmus test of which teams are the strongest and we'll have to wait and see now.

Riot drastic changes with no prior notice are paying off. weird op new champs? Check. Hidden bugs. or should i say. Features? Check. no vision so a flashing alistar is always a possiblity? Check.

I intentionally skipped out on the Pro scene this year so I could be shocked at worlds. Last year I watched just shy of every match and called ever victor that could be and it ruined the experience. Hell I should be one of the people on the desk because they haven't done shit this year but say something and get booed for failing.

But I agree with you OP. So far this has been a pretty good worlds IMO Just upset to see Doublelift say "TSM is America's team" then lose the very next match shamefully.

Honestly I just hate Doublelift now after he ditched Afro and said he was holding him back.

These best of ones are getting to people. It's crazy! Some regions are more used to it than others, but when you only have one chance to get a read on a team it can hurt or help you. Next week should show who learns from their mistakes better and can execute new strategies to counter their group-mates.

That's true, but to be fair it's not a high bar to jump over. The most exciting thing that happened last year was NA doing really, really well the first round. SKT winning it all was mostly a given, and the entire Worlds tourney was more of a formality of crowning them than an actual competition.

Not very difficult to top that snoozefest.

Im just upset that my should be solid bet on SKT was killed by FW.

Much more fun to watch. Not just for NA teams but every team in general. Loving it.

I agree, the games have been much more interesting than years past. Seeing all the players really get into the game is something that is good for the competitive scene.

It is pretty hard to argue that it isn't more exciting seeing as how for the first time in years everyone has lost a game in groups. And it happened in the first weekend.

That and the wildcard regions showing up big.

There isn't the same level of one superstar team out to wreck everyone the way there has been the last few.

World's hasn't been this open since Season 2. (Season 2 was probably still more open though. I will be astounded if in the long run a Korean team doesn't still take it home.)

Groups has to be my favorite part of Worlds mainly because it's so unpredictable as far as W and L goes for each team.
The Playoffs are great too but for the most part the better team in most cases the Asian teams will have a Series to work with and study their opponents and that's when in my opinion Worlds tends to get boring. (FOR ME MY OPINION)

Last year was fun but this year's Worlds is 10X Better not just because of the 6-3 NA record but last year while the competition was closer than it was in previous years EVERYONE could tell SKT was going to win.
