Every team except for SKT induced gag reflexes for me this MSI.. Flukes, bad games, blah blah... Everyone > in a never ending circle. Everyone is bronze vs SKT and I wish this wasn't true.

GAM was so great!!... until the last two days. Like they just imploded into terribleness from a good start and even decent starting games.

They played a lot better, than i expected. It seems that they finally did some decent prep. Now SKT will be another beast entirely. Hopefully it will not be a total stomp.

Have to entirely disagree with that. In the face of some of the toughest competition ever in 2016, G2 choked massively and had many people questioning whether EU was above wild-card regions. In 2017, where NA/China/EU are all going through "rough patches" and LMS hasn't changed, then they win 3-1 against a team which sorta lost it for themselves (I still don't get why they'd take those specific teamcomps at all). If you ignore all the factors concerning overall competition, team strengths, and metas, then yes G2 has been able to "make up" for their laughable 2016 MSI. If you take into account any of the facts though, then much like myself you'd realize that unless they mirror this at worlds (something CLG, a team that "Redeemed NA" at last year's msi) there really is no point in congratulating them for anything yet.

NA is having a rough patch? All the teams are playing better than ever before. C9, P1, TSM, FQ are all strong for their region. China weak? Really? Every was counting on WE being #2, only after SKt.

Calling WE #2 was just premature. They are an East Asian team in an established region, so it felt like most people gave them the number 2 simply because they were Chinese and not because they were the second best.

Put any one of those teams barring C9 against the korean ones though, and they won't even stand a chance (remember, the strength of teams doesn't actually matter regionally if they can't ultimately do decently at worlds in the end). Also entirely surprised you included flyquest there, as despite finishing 4th they were widely-considered by multiple analysts/sites (the score, espn, scarra/markz) as a 7th-best team who had few win conditions outside of "hope moon/hai go off and the enemy team can't handle it".

China again, was/is a weak region according to pretty much every analytical site (froskurinn doing a 90-min long interview with thorinn about how the region itself has turned into a "wild-west like region where the big sheriff RNG is having a hard time keeping the law"). Although this region being a bit dead is somewhat good news for NA/EU (as at least now they have a shot of both making it out of groups at worlds), barring C9 I'm under the impression that none of the current iterations of those teams could handle any of the top-3 projected korean teams (SKT, KT, SSG) in a bo5.

Saying CLG redeemed NA seems weird aswell, cus all you had to do to win vs CLG is ban Sol/Cait or force Darshan on a splitpush champ. Just because everyone was solely focussed on peeling for Stixxay and people like RNG taking actrocious fights at elder that doesn't mean that they redeemed NA. Besides maybe making it to the finals.
