IF Santorin is so bad why does he have 15 kda?

Darth Pixy Misa··2 votes·2,175 views

I agree that his early game pressure needs improvement, Why even Pick Rek'sai if you dont gank early? He should at least show up bot or top and be a annoying for a few sec early.

The Stats say he is doing well tho.

Santorin is fine, he just happens to be the jungler for TSM, so if he sneezes out of key their will be a reddit filled backlash about how he is the worst LCS sneezing jungler or some such.

It isn't like Incarnation who actually is bad as stats show, since he is last in every category for mid laners as far as mid laners that have started every game. Even only third at best in most categories just on his own team and last in a few.

Santorin is fine.

i don't think he is BAD, Its just he has a 15 kda cuz he thats all he really cares about, everytime i saw wildturtle "caught out" it cud have been saved if santorin risked himself just a little. He always just runs away full hp. he shud sacrifice himself more

He avoids any confrontations except where he can snipe some damage on somebody who is already dying. From day 1, he has failed to back up his lanes and rather focused on farming. Watch the UoL vs TSM stuff from IEM San Hose, and then watch his games from last week. Nothing has changed in his playstyle and it's a joke that he got Rookie of the split. At least this time it will be Move, who is the best jungler in NA right now and deserves to be noticed.

KDA by itself indicates nothing. the best indicator to know if someone is a noob is if he speculates about LCS players skill.

I love how there are channels like NFL Network and ESPN that do this same thing daily about stats and speculating on player skill and no one bats an eye.

People do it about players in the LCs and they are "noobs"

Get out of here, troll

thats because in football, first they have about six million statistics about players while in LCS they have like 3, and second because almost all ball games including football and soccer are actually very straight forward games as everything you do gives instant feedback, so the statistics they have are actually somewhat a resumee of their play.

the difference to league of legends, aside from the LCS not really having super tons of statistics or at least not publishing them all, and league being a very very very very very much more complex game, is the coming off those statistics. this guy has a good KDA cool, but where does it come from?

sure, christiano ronaldo scores tons of goals in madrid but on the national team he doesnt shine. why not? because he gets enabled by his really good madrid teammates to do his great plays. this means, its not 100% his own achievement.

its the same in league of legends, but since its so complex here and also KDA in league isnt equal to goals in soccer, the statistics have entirely different meaning. its not like cool ronadlo won a duel and scored a goal all by himself and now he has +50 movementspeed and increased dribbling for 10 minutes and it snowballs into 6:0.

in league, things can have very hard to calculate long-term effects. rumble takes one bad trade against hecarim and loses 20% HP more than he needed to and loses 15 extra minions over the course of 10 minutes and now there is a teamfight and hecarims team barely win and escape with 100 hp but rumble just missed 200 gold to finish liandrys and now because 15 minutes ago he took this one bad trade that nobody talked about, his team lost the game. even tho its not SOLELY because of that, it couldve changed everything in theory. and basically almost every single move in the entire game that people make has these long-term effects on certain other situations.

this is how complex delayed effects league has. none of this exists in football or soccer.

so, go ahead, be a noob and celebrate high kda players and praise them for how amazing they carry but still lose because their midlaner sucks.

he has a 15kda exactly because he is "so bad" - TSM would need him to take more risks and make plays, but he mostly plays overly passive/save. A good KDA not always indicates a good player.

Well here is my stand on that.... TSM WANTS safe players. If they wanted risky players, they wouldn't be trying out KEITH. KEITH is the safest and probably worst laning ADC in NALCS. You get a good KDA by 1 of 2 ways; knowing when to fight or run, or successful ganks/winning team fights. His early game gank presence is weak, but his knowledge of the game makes up for it. That is why is KDA is so good.

there´s just one problem with that - if you are not willing to make plays and take some risk you will always lose to teams that are better than you. There´s just no way tobeat a mechanical or rotational superior team without taking some risks - and there are a lot of teams out there that are superior to tsm in both categories.

I wouldn't say Santorin is bad. He is good at warding. In the past he "looked" bad because Dyrus would push out or get turret dove and killed with Santorn nowhere in the area. That last part seems much improved on both of their parts.

I do think he needs to pressure more. He is more of a warding and farming jungler.
