Can You Really Call It The NA LCS If 3/4ths of the Players Aren't From NA?
I realize the topic sounds a bit flamebait-y and I apologize for that, but I'm actually legit curious about something.
What's the current ratio of players who were born and raised in NA vs those who have either moved their entire teams from Korea/China (on the perception that NA would be an "easier" region to reach Worlds from) or are ringers that NA-based teams have brought in to bolster their line-ups? How do the numbers break down for those who are (for lack of better words) "true" NA players vs "import" NA players?
Until this current split, C9 was the only team to have all five members that were purely from NA but now even they had to look outside of NA to replace Hai (and that's been working out as well as Sampson walking into a barber shop).
In addition, is the ratio of "true vs import" to a severe enough degree that it becomes something the LCS should be concerned about in terms of the region actually developing as it moves forward or just being choked out by whoever can throw the most money at big name players from other regions?
