MSI Finals EDG vs. SKT
Game 5.
Game 5.
SKT down! First Faker loss on LeBlanc!
He won our hearts. He outperformed Pawn and played well.
Oh yeah they all did great, though I wonder what would've happened if they had Faker for all 5 games.
Me too. They mostly put in Easyhoon because Pawn is one mid that Faker has struggled against in the past. However, that is obviously not the case this time around.

Considering he did well against a Morg and Sivir, he deserves a medal of his own.

outperformed Morgana? All Morgana has is a Q skill shot, other than that Morgana cant exactly make any flashy plays. Morgana didn't bad either.
Honestly, until that final game, Pawn underperformed and I really wish that people would consider the series as a whole and not just as the single game where their favorite team stomped. I mean, is anyone about to say that Bengi is the best jungler in the world after he counter jungled the f* out of fnatic in a single game? Props to Pawn's Morgana play and it's nice to see that he can still perform when he has to, in that game he was the more useful mid laner.
God, I'm so happy to see Faker lose on LeBlanc, and he totally deserved it. First pick lock LeBlanc, what does EDG do? 3 anti-LB champions on their team. Faker goes in... and he doesn't come out. Morg to shield the damage, Maokai to hold him down, Alistar to keep him down, Faker goes splat. He completely melted outside of the baron pit before that game winning push. It was just poor and greedy decision making on his part. Don't first pick a champion with hard counters no matter how good you are at them. Even Faker can be outplayed.

It wasn't first pick. Urgot was.
That just makes it even more greedy, since he knew part of what he was going into.
they nicly baited that out. Morg into LB is just so good. And that urgot pick really screwed them - i think he´s at a <30%winrate as adc over that tournament, no idea why people would still prioritize him for botlane. He´s way too easy to overrun with tanks if he isn´t already in the snowballing team.
Should have had Faker all 5 games. Great series though.
They were primarily placing a sub in because of the matchup in the past. They had good reason to initially based on that, but it ultimately didn't work out because they predicted incorrectly. Faker would have done well against Pawn the whole series whereas they anticipated Faker struggling against Pawn as he has in the past.
SKT with Easyhoon is actually stronger than with Faker, they play much more controlled with EH - sth. EDG really struggles against a lot more than vs an opponent that really wants to fight. Game 4 had been more of a throw from EDG than a victory for SKT.

At no point in game 4 was it EDG's game. It was a dominating win from SKT. Game 5 was initially going fine for SKT until they couldn't win teamfights, they simply got outpicked in pick/ban.
And no, they werenot stronger with Easyhoon.
Now that we've seen that SKT, and by extension Korea, doesn't fare well against constant, reckless aggression, can we expect the LCK's meta to drastically shift toward that aggressive style as they attempt to learn how to counter the other regions?
