Yea. I cant stand listening to Monte. Like, if that was Faker on Leblanc, dominating to that degree, he would be slobbing all over Faker for the entire segment, about how good he played despite his team losing. But Bjergsen? He just points out one point where he messed up when its basically 1v5 anytime TSM plays a game lately.
That, and he just gives every region besides KR complete and utter hell. And, Phreak said it best; these players are pretty equal. It really boils down to a few misplays or plays in the mid-game as to who wins. Its rare to even see something like what Bjerg did to Nagne.
I dont even like TSM, but up until they started just randomly running around getting caught, I didn't think they played all that bad. But thats just one instance. All he does is berate how bad other teams are, and downplay when the Koreans play bad. I know its his shtick, but its getting old. I dont mind the hype, or having SOME favoritism. But Monte is over-bearing with it. It actually clouds his judgement, tbh. God forbid Korea ever ends up a weaker region and he can't simply rely on using them as his speaking point about knowing anything. Because, when it comes down to CLOSE games, hes pretty much wrong.

ninjaIRL 2 votesTBH TSM just gets carried by Bjergsen. WildTurtle, Santorin and Dyrus played really weakly and overall, as a team, they are inferior.
Monte says the truth overtly harshly but he's right, TSM isn't that great of a team with their pick/ban phase and their blatant disregard for Dyrus in every single game. The enemy team knew that Dyrus was just there as bait for their abilities so they scare him off and then it turns into a 5v4 with TSM losing most teamfights. It didn't helped that Dyrus was starving from lack of farm and it simply was a bad pick to pick Olaf without a Sivir or an Ancient Coin support. Dyrus isn't the only one underperforming though, Santorin doesn't help and WildTurtle didn't do enough for how much he got babysat by his support.
Every pre-teamfight Dyrus is out overextended and always in need to Ragnarok out so he doesn't get killed. So many other stronger teams, save for the Bangkok's who are newbies to the Worlds scene.
LeeDark1 votesYeah, I'll never understand the "Dyrus on an island" strategy they seem to have, given the fact that when Dyrus does well, TSM is basically guaranteed to win the game. You can see it throughout both Spring and Summer Split. Bjergsen and Wildturtle have never been able to carry the whole team consistently. No matter how good either of them is in a game, they are both squishy carries, and all the opponent has to do is focus them and the rest of the team is useless afterward. Dyrus plays a frontline threat; when he is hard to take down or ignore, it allows the carries the freedom to do their jobs. Yet still, their opponents can waste up to even a full MINUTE camping Dyrus, waiting for him to think they are gone, because they know 100% that Santorin is NEVER GONNA SHOW UP to help him.
Combine that with the fact that WildTurtle is the single worst ADC that is a starter for a pro team, yet they still depend so much on him doing well, and TSM is just destined to keep failing. They absolutely need a new jungler and ADC.

But monte will just flat out say he is a fan of this team and hates that team or vice-versa. I don't even watch the analyst desk most of the time because I find it a waste of time, but my second reason is I don't want to listen to Monte smash western teams while ignoring every little mistake of his precious SKT.

Thats the most annoying part. Its not that he smashes western teams, its that he blatantly overlooks, or brushes off, similar mistakes and problems in Korean teams. If you are going to smash teams for every little thing, you need to smash ALL the teams. Not just pick a region or a couple teams and lay into them every chance you get while overlooking issues in others. That's the annoying part.

Guyy Fieri1 votesOne of the things that makes League really its own thing is because the announcers and the analysts are no where near as professional as in most other professional sports realms. Was it a little uncalled for...sure, but he did kinda have a point. CLG is now at the top of Group A while TSM will most likely fall to 0-2 tomorrow (I just don't see them beating Origen.) People can make claims about the group draw maybe screwing TSM but I have to point out that TSM had the chance to have the favorable draw like CLG by winning Summer Split and they choked, so to me that's not a viable excuse.
On a side note, anyone else noticing that since TSM changed their jersey's they are 0-4 overall in competitive games...
ninjaIRL 1 votesThat is quite disrespectful but I am pretty sure Phreak did the same think in Season 3 or 4 when he made the comment about "all the rest of the other teams are just CLGs." I think it was Phreak, he got no flak for it because he's the funny guy! Yay!
There's also the blatant BMing and disrespect from players like Doublelift (when he was strong) in S3 to S4 that everyone loves to see in and off the pro scene cameras. SKT T1 Faker handled himself really well. I'm sure he felt cocky being named the #1 player in the #1 team in Season 3 but he never disrespected other teams/players because of it.
When SKT T1 Faker was asked about the history between him and H2K's Ryu (i.e. him utterly destroying Ryu's 100% health Zed with his 25% health Zed), he just says, the past is the past and we are two different players now. Faker ftw.
I see the majority of the disrespect from NA players, it could just be because of language barriers but I highly doubt it.
