a lot of their success comes from playing counter-meta champion. They know what to expect from their opponent, while noone can realisticly know what to expect from them. A lot of people just look at their picks and think they play yolo style, but in fact they play exactly what is good against what their opponent are playing. This next level of though in their draft phase is what make them so successful.

Tear has horrible synergy, not Manamune. Its like Ezreal

I'm surprised by the Manamune pickup on him though, that item has very little synergy with his kit (it doesn't apply on any of his abilities at all, Varus doesn't need tons of mana even when going full AD poke build, and it leaves him very weak early game when Varus usually is pressing his lane bully advantage).

I think either a more typical AD build or an AP build would have been much better in that match, but hey, they won with it anyway...

does however go well with a very armor pen heavy build.

Unicorns can be damn proud of their showing these Playoffs. So can Fnatic, but they weren't nearly as fabulous.

The Varus mid was pretty dam good legit maybe. I am surprised they never went back to it.
