They're losing to team they should be beating like CLG and FOX

FQ is being serious, the problem is that the other teams have understood how to counter them, a very simple strategy

Stop Hai and you are going to stop FQ.

No FQ players is individually top notch on his own, so what they have to rely on is better macro. And Hai is the one that is managing them. Beat him in the 1 vs 1 or through team effort, and if he is pressured hard he lose focus so the entire team goes down a notch

Just notices it, EVERY SINGLE TIME they lose, Hai is having a bad game. It is not like Bjergsen, Froggen, Arrow, Lira, etc... that he can have a good game and still lose. If Hai can shotcall with relative calm, he can lead below average players to overcome stronger eneimes, otherwise he is the first to suffer and all the other follow

FQ is the team that is the most dependent in the world on a single player

Or they're just not as good as people thought they were? FlyQuest started off hot and fans started to lose their minds but if you actually just look at who they were facing. ( Team Envyus, Team Liquid, CLG, Echo Fox, Dignitas, Immortals, Phoenix One )

13-5 First half of the split. NV- The last place team 2-0 GJ TL - This team has so many problems it's actually surprising it took FQ 3 games to beat them. CLG - It's CLG they always suck at the start of every year. 2-0 EF - They actually lost to them 1-2 DIG - During the time Keane was doing his best Froggen farm 24/7 impression. IMT - meh P1 - The only surprising win but when the team has Inori instead of Meteos it's more obvious why FQ beat them.

5-15 Second half of the split.

Balls - Has been falling off since he came into the league back in 2013 Summer, each split has gotten worse. Moon- No idea how or why this guy is currently in 2nd place for the MVP but ok......... Rito logic I suppose. Hai - 1v9 just about every game, hasn't ever been a great mid in his career and it's showing. Altec- Sucks in teamfighting and can only farm that's about it. Lemon- Same as Balls he's past his due.

FQ are still a decent team but they have ok-mediocre players at "TIMES" with weird cheesy picks that has gotten old.
Reminds me of the LAL when they had Dwight Howard - the team started off ok and fans before the season was hyping them up with Hai being Kobe Bryant but even with meh players Hai/Kobe can't carry the team.

For me, the big problem with Flyquest is the same problem ANX had post-worlds: although they can play a bunch of off-meta stuff decently, it is by no means a long-term solution to a team's problems. While stuff like mordekaiser/naut botlanes and non-meta assassins mid can work (zed I kinda consider off-meta if you consider the fact that talon can sorta do his job better), the meta shift (the rise of more mobile adc's like ezreal being a soft-counter to that botlane) has forced out their massive skill disparity and pushed their record back into where most people thought they'd be.

Oh, and your "player assessments" are way off. Hai is probably the best NA-born midlaner with an argument for best NA-born player of all time, Altec/Lemon are about where everyone thought they'd be this split (hovering around the middle), Moon had a decent run to start the split but much like Akaadian was overhyped and is now seeing his fortune turn, and Balls hasn't exactly "changed" as he was always known for being pretty average and unable to effectively play carries that well. If anything, this team is a lot like the Chip Kelly-led Philadelphia Eagles, in which they had a bunch of success early/got "overhyped" only for reality to set in and have them fall from grace (as although the team had Lesean Mccoy/Desean Jackson, 2 good players and a bunch of trick plays don't instantly guarantee a superbowl).

Hai is one of the greatest League of Legends players EVER period book closed, as well as NA born, raised etc etc but it's no secret he's not a mid lane god. He plays around and for his team but even the best players still need some type of production for the players that he's helping or it's a waste of time and in Hai's efforts playstyle.
He's always been a die, draw up plays do whatever it takes to help his team. Like I said he isn't a great mid he's decent but he's no Bjergsen, Jensen, Faker, etc he plays around what he's good at and it's shotcalling nothing else comes close to what he brings to the table as far as his abilities. Like some Professor X or something in a sense that's he's really smart but lacks any type of other abilities besides his mental strength.

I agree with your PHI remarks as it does fit them perfectly.

That "mental strength" being what is keeping Flyquest out of 0-18 (0-36 match record) 10th place now. Although his skill has diminished slightly (I wouldn't say it's gone completely, as he's kinda handicapped himself by playing off-meta stupidity like zed as of late), you kinda have to ask yourself where this team would be without that giant shot-calling edge he has over the entire league. Balls is/has always been an average mid-laner, Moon was coming off probably the worst LCS split of all time, and botlane hasn't exactly "mattered" for most of the split anyways. Combined with the fact that they're a pretty new team and don't have the coaching/management staff compared everyone else, and I'm honestly surprised that Hai isn't in MVP talks right now alongside Meteos and my pick for "probable winner" Impact. Skill doesn't exactly matter if you're doing literally everything else to try and make your team better.

Yeah, barring Hai/Meteos I wouldn't put any of those players on my MVP list only because I sorta rank my voting differently (I like to think of MVP as "replace this guy with the average and how does this team do"). Replace Jensen/Bjerg with an average LCS mid, and the teams would probably still be in the top-3. Replace Hai with an average LCS mid, and flyquest is auto-10th place. P1 is arguable as meteos/arrow are kinda "Bucking the meta trends" right now when it comes to their respective roles, but from what I think the MVP voting is basically this:

1- Hai 2- (large gap between) Meteos/Arrow tied 3- Lira 4- Ssumday (let's not forget that apex/dig basically rely on top to hard-carry 90% of their games) 5- Dardoch (the huge upside he brings is what is allowing IMT to stomp games easier)

Interesting but pretty good list honestly, the Lira pick is unexpected but I can see why he might be on the list. He pretty much creates every opportunity for NV to win but bad positioning causes them to lose, so I can see Lira being on the list.
