They beat H2K both times in the regular season. Head to head is the first tie-breaker. Did I miss something?

UOL are 9-4//21-14, while H2K are also 9-4// but also 21-8. So they lost 6 less games, not series but games while having the same overall record(9-4). While UOL are 2-0 vs H2K, that doesn't mean all that much because both teams are still tied 9-4, the total games matters next and H2K have the better record overall with 21-8 compared to 21-14.

This is from the official 2017 rules.

"In the event that two Teams are tied in the standings at the conclusion of the Regular Season Split, the tie will be broken by their head-to-head record. If those Teams have an identical head-to-head record the tie will be broken by their amount of Games won. If those Teams have an identical amount of Games won, the tied Teams will play a tiebreaker-game."

Ofc, the 2nd part doesn't really make sense...looking at games won (it'll just be 2x the number wins, which is the still the same tied number). Perhaps they have to look at losses like you suggest. Either way, head to head is first. Are they not following their own rules? I'm lost.

My only idea is that it's possible that Game Differential is not listed as a tiebreaker because it's technically in the standings, so the teams aren't actually tied. Basically, the tiebreakers would only be in effect if the teams were tied in both set win-loss and game differential. That would explain why total wins would be a tiebreaker and why H2K beat out UoL.

This is what I got out of it, Record means the most(9-4) followed up by overall record(21-8), then lastly the head-to-head record being last and least important. Riot must think the head-to-head is the least important factor in it, mainly because it's still tied "technically" even

H2K won the overall games 21-8 > 21-14
UOL won the head-to-head 2-0
Tied as far as record 9-4

Last split, FQ and DIG were tied 9-9 in the standings, with both teams going 1-1 against each other but since FQ lost 1 less total game they were ahead of them in the standings. So even with a tied record(9-9) and tied head-to-head(1-1) they still didn't play a tie-breaker, mainly because of the overall record ( FQ-22-21) ( DIG 22-22)

Because unlike the enlightened and superior NA, whose 10th place team dumpstered the top teams of EU 4-2, the dumb Euros don't use head to head as the first tie breaker.
