And the other one, backed by arguably the best infrastructure and without question the best "homegrown" players, will make it to the quarterfinals of worlds again and show other NA teams how to properly build a franchise.

To be fair, if barely making it to Worlds and barely getting to Quarterfinals/barely missing Quarterfinals in Worlds for two years straight is how to properly build a franchise, NA has some damn low standards.

Considering literally every other region barring korea doesn't actually make the quarterfinals (eu didn't do it last year, and china has been entirely absent for what feels like forever), what C9 is doing is actually pretty impressive considering the reputation western teams have.

Both EU and China have put at least one team into Quarterfinals in both S5 and S6. Both have put three over the past two years (S5 FNC/OG S6 H2K for EU, S5 EDG S6 RNG/EDG for LPL), with NA only having one in S6 C9. EU has also put all of those teams into Semis, being the only non-Korean region to get any Semifinal teams.

C9 has done well by NA standards, but NA standards recently is to throw games against IWC teams and generally lose in Groups, even against teams that they should beat.

i like C9 and i root for them, but they just lack that cutting edge, can't put my finger on it.

Not sure if Top 8 in the world is "low standards" and in both years they have made it through good play. its not like they play like crap and get through cause of how weak their group is (you can say what you want about their group this year but it was flash wolves skt and imay. no wildcards and not only the #1 team from LMS but also the previous world champs. Meanwhile Season 4 they had the EU superteam and NWS who were considered very strong. and c9 managed to beat both, with C9vsNWS being one of the most hype matches in the group stages that year).

I seriously doubt it, I feel like people are taking too much off of week 1 of LCS. Mid-season is when the teams start to fall apart. I doubt Flyquest will be in the top 3 by the end of the split. C9 will most likely be first, which alot of people already guessed.
