I got excited seeing Diamond on Evelynn again. But then I see that the pick has almost no influence.

Edit: Probably the most influential Evelynn player couldn't make it work this match. One match may not be a good enough sample size, but. Evelynn is still trash.

First I've seen it in the LCS and you have people complaining that she's trash right now. Literally in the LCS a caster said it.

Nah man......The pick worked great and Diamond really knows how to play it.......what screwed Gambit over was that god-awful Lulu pick.....

While I disagree with you on how the Evelynn picked worked out. I know what a fantastic Eve player Diamond is. You bring up an interesting point. Why on Earth did they pick Lulu into Ahri? I would have expected maybe a Lissandra pick to complement the lockdown with Kennen. Along with the skirmishers Eve maybe they could have locked down someone long enough for Eve to get some gold under her belt to be more influential.

Regardless of how the eve pick worked out, what Gambit did was pick Lulu to complement Eve and ended up having Zero damage. The Eve pick would have worked fine with one pokey player (or a lissandra, somebody better at picking people out sure)

I believe this because of the two fights that went Gambits way; Gambit was able to start both those fights BECAUSE of the Eve pick. The problem with that was the opportunities for Gambit to pick people out were so slim, simply because you can't outtank a Mao/Jarvan comp and H2K realized that and never stopped grouping as 5.

Sure.....Eve wont have the same teamfight potential as a J4/Vi but she benefited the team greatly. Gambits problem was zero poke and/or zero damage.

I think the Eve pick worked. The lulu and kennen picks, on the other hand were not successful.

I only caught the end, but based on the post game discussions H2K did not provide early gank opportunities. Evelynn has to snowball very hard in the laning phase to bypass her massive mid-game slump, and that would prevent her from doing so.

After very early game where numbers matter more than the small number difference between champions, Evelynn needs both levels (quite lacking in the current jungle unless you are hard farming with the champs with the best clears) and items to be useful.
