Curious About An Option For NA SoloQ

If any Rioters are reading this, I'd be curious to hear what you know about something like this ever having been discussed before.

I'm sure all of us are familiar with one of the standard reasons people say NA SoloQ is so bad is because of MUCH higher ping times than other regions.

Obviously, it would be silly to say that would be the ONLY problem NA has BUT I'm curious if this way of dealing with it, especially now that Riot has a LOT more money than it used to and could run something like this, might help alleviate that aspect at least.

Simply put: Divide NA into regional servers like how EU has East and West but with three (East, Central, West) instead.

Heck, you already have Chicago set up as the current main server for the entire country and, as I understand it, they still have the servers in LA set up so there's your Central and West all ready to go. You'd just need to get something in New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia or thereabouts established.

It just seems weird NA is one continuous server considering both its size and relative density of population compared to the regions that have multiple servers. I wonder if this subject has ever been brought up before and, if so, why has it seemingly not been seriously considered?
