How many wards are used and/or destroyed in the average LCS/Professional match?
We all know that wards are a very important part of the game, at all stages of the game. The more vision you have, the more you deny the enemy vision, the better things are going to go for you. Depending on if you know how to use the vision advantage, of course. Of course the only people who ward consistently at lower levels of play are supports, and at that you're looking at GOOD supports as opposed to just 'oop, just got ganked, better use my trinket that I never upgrade to ward riverbush.' It actually becomes rather infuriating since tough situations can be turned into manageable ones and even turn-around wins when good vision is combined with smart play.
All this has been on my mind since worlds started and during today's matches I became curious:
We have listings for what pro players build, what champions they pick, their runes, their masteries, their skill-order, everything. All of those things are followed (particularly item builds and runes/masteries) by players. If we want to encourage an emphasis on vision, why are we not seeing that put out too?
Just how many wards were destroyed during the Alliance vs. Najin White Shield match? How many were placed? I'd be kind of curious to know. Do EU and NA teams differ on coverage or otherwise how many they buy? Do Chinese and Korean teams use more than those two combined? How much gold really does get spent on wards in a match?
Doesn't have to be an ongoing, keep-track-every-game kind of thing, but some general numbers might make for some interesting discussion given that all of us can agree that wards and vision are pretty important to the game.
God, this sounds terribly specific and lame, but I can't help it. I am rather curious. Anyone got any numbers or anything?
=75g (can have 3 in inventory, 3 out on the field per player, so let's imagine 225g, not including the support X 8 players=1800g)
=100g (can have 2 in inventory, 1 on the field per player, so let's imagine 200g per player X 10 players=2000g)
=800g (field limit same as stealth ward, always on a support and oftentimes the jungler, so possibly 1600g X 2 teams=3200g)
