Goodbye for now, Riot Games

Joining Riot has been one of the most epic quests in my life, but today, that quest comes to an end. Thank you for embarking on this wild roller coaster ride with me. Social design was pretty new in the games and tech industries, and exploring uncharted territory with you has been a thrilling experience.

I’ve always believed that making League of Legends had to be a collaboration with the community. My friend Ghostcrawler and I have always said that passionate gamers, even angry ones, are gamers that care about the game--just like us. Whether you were in Wood 1 (damn matchmaking!!) or Challenger, we all want League to be the best possible game it can be. Being able to work on a game with such a passionate community has been an honor.

To Riot: When I joined here I was just a kid. A mid-level designer with the opportunity to solve an impossible problem. I've made my fair share of mistakes along the way - and learned so much from them - but the journey has been incredible. To players: keep giving feedback and working with Riot to make League last for another decade, so I can one day teach my future son how to play this crazy game.

I will always remember the impressive and inspirational Rioters who’ve crossed my path, and a part of me will always be a shopkeeper on the Howling Abyss. Riot will be perpetually on my radar. That said, impossible problems have an irresistible allure to me, and I think it’s time for a new challenge. League is in better hands than ever before, and I’m excited to see, as a player, what they’ll do next.

I may not have agreed with all of your ideas or decisions, but League is certainly better off in terms of toxicity than pretty much any major competitive PC game right now, which is something I can respect. Good job, and good luck on your future work.

You were a man on an impossible mission. Your efforts and projects were appreciated and although there are vocal players who'd say otherwise, i think you brought a big change in the community and the game itself in a positive way.

I wish you the best of luck in another game called "Life", that has outstanding graphics.

Is it related to dynamic queue and voice chat? If it was because of that, kudos to you for standing your ground. If it was because of the 19banned streamer, kudos to you. I guess there isn't any scenario that you wouldn't deserve a congratulations.

And also, dynamic queue is a failure where people straight outta bronze and silver ruin the game by acting like dumb F's going 0/14/0. Your presence has ruined this game, and I want you to know that before you think otherwise. In all honesty I don't know much about you, but you won't be missed.

Could not be more excited that you got your butt canned. Your decisions are horrible and what you have done to the game will take years to repair. How you were not fired much sooner I have not a clue, but one things for certain.

1 Point Tencent / 0 point Riot Games. Riot tried to protect your dumb decisions and apparently Tencent realized how ridiculous your ideas truly are. No doubt 90% of the reason you were fired was due to the dynamic que. Wether anyone admits it or not and regardless that a team had a say so. You had major sway over the decision to make it happen or not.

You basically tried to make us your guinea pigs for your stupid social experiments to prove that you could curb toxicity .... when you did not listen nor realise to this very day that your simply banning people for chatting their anger and not bothering the ones displaying their anger in game by trolling , feeding among other toxic activities.

Hell quote me if I am wrong on this but weren't you the poster child of this whole "TOXICITY CRUSADE" in the first place ?

Hopefully, the guy who takes your place will make a system that curbs the actual toxicity by banning the ones who cause the players to type out curses and rip them a new one for ruining our experience.

Instead of doing what you did, which was REWARD the players for ruining our experience by banning us for getting upset at them.

Glad you wont be around to torture us with your toxicity anymore.

I wish nothing but ill will and bad times for you hopefully your future is filled in darkness and hard times. Kinda like the state you left league in.

I wish you well Lyte. You have always been my favourite Rioter, I admired the courage the Behaviour team showed in going through with their ideas, you have been pioneers in the gaming industry and shaped the games to come, and I'm proud that I've been able to be there as a player while it all was happening. Your contribution has been very important, and I hope your team will continue your work.

I hope your new job will be as satisfying as your job at Riot, and that you will always be able to bring new knowledge to behaviour in gaming! :)

I got banned in the past and i took all the effort i had to improv and change i watched all of your seminar videos on youtube and on other sites and i must say that you helped me A LOT on my way to plat... i hope you will enjoy the new job and i also hope that your life will go as best it can... enjoy your farewell party to the maximum and maybe one day ill see you again on some of your amazing behavior videos best of luck in the future oh and dont worry we still play aram ;)
