Down Voting Is A Really Negative And Discouraging Feature

No one likes to see their things down voted, why does this even exist?

The constant barrage of down votes that come in for apparently no reason the instant posts are made is ridiculous. It's almost like there are down voting bots out there or something. Can this feature just be removed please?

If we like something, we should be able to upvote it.. but there's literally no reason to have the ability to down vote. If someone doesn't like the post or comment, they simply don't vote for it. Also, using the down voting system to hide content is just wrong in every way. If something is that bad to where it needs hidden or removed, that's what the reporting system and moderation is for.
