Honestly there needs to be further restrictions on low level accounts posting on these boards

The amount of low quality posts that come from these unleveled accounts is getting out of hand. It's pretty obvious why people are using these accounts to begin with. They're obviously not new players. There are a few reasons why people use them.

  • They got banned on their main account and are directly violating the rules on evading bans

  • They are using the account to fabricate false claims with no evidence (I.E. "someone went 0/30 in my last game and didnt get banned")

  • They are using the unleveled account to post then log on their main to upvote themselves

  • They are using a second account to agree with themselves and make it seem like more people are on their side than there really is

I post on these boards quite a lot and these low level and/or unused accounts are used to make low quality posts, insult others, rage, rank shame, derail threads, manipulate votes, and instigate fights at a rate that is much, MUCH higher than normal accounts. Practically zero of these accounts are actually new players seeking advice. You may see one or two posts a month from actual new players. Maybe. The rest of these inactive low level accounts by and large exist to cause trouble and evade bans.

My suggestion is to not allow accounts to post until level 30 except for a new board for all new player questions and select others like the Support category and GD

We considered this, but decided against it. While some players undoubtedly abuse alternate accounts, new players should feel welcome to post on the boards and contribute to discussions -- not be isolated in a single area.

So I level this account to 30 and never play it again, then what? I log into my level 40 account I never play anymore, with the last game from "who-knows-when". Then what?

People have alt accounts they post on. You can raise the minimum posting age, but you aren't stopping the problem, which is shit posting. When God created the internet and crapped out the 3rd user, shit posting was born between the first 2.

Raising the minimum level isn't going to change that. You're just asking them to put an extra weekend into their smurf account to continue what they have been doing.

So... you want to make the new player experience EVEN WORSE by making them not even allowed to be a part of the community. Gotcha.

This is the first account I ever logged with on the boards, and I'm just lazy to log on my main. Also people always tell you stuff like "YoU ArE XXX rank (or "yOu OnlY pLay NoRmS oR ArAm") and use it as a counter-argument
