Obligatory Farewell Thread
Well, team, it's been real.
Many of us have dumped a lot of time and energy into these forums, and ofc I'm not just talking about the mods. I consider all of us part of a team and a community here. We have fought, discussed, speculated, begged, and whined together here over the years, and honestly, League isn't going to even feel like the same game to me when these forums are gone.
My mission, from when I first filled out a volunteer moderator application, was to try to make this the place to discuss the game. We, as a community, have had a ton of competing ideas about how to do that; we've certainly had our ups and downs. I think there's value in the experiments we did. There's value in the time we spent to make this place into what it has been and what it is now. Thanks to all who came along for the ride.
I hope that all of you, users, mods, and former mods, can look back on the Boards era with some fondness. I know I will. I learned so much about myself and about how to communicate and collaborate from this experience. I don't want to get too mushy; it's an internet forum, ok? But I want you all to know that I appreciate you. I appreciate the time you spent reading posts. I appreciate the investment you put into posts of your own. I appreciate the content and the discussion that everyone collectively generated here. I appreciate your passion, even when you're using it in ways that violate the Universal rules ;)
The community does not have a shortage of ways to display that passion, so I'm confident that even with Boards gone, those of you that made this place special will find ways to bring that energy elsewhere. I look forward to seeing how you shape the community with those efforts.
Hope to see some of you on the Rift. Gl and hf out there, my friends.
