People on boards love to downvote anything they dont agree with :/

Why is it when u post something asking for feedback on a topic, and you give your opinion people on here are so quick to just immediately downvote it. So we get little to no feedback on the topic ?

EDIT: and ill see a post with like 1k views and comments that says 4 words like garen is stupid with a ton of upvotes..

I'm not sure whether they actually read anything or just saw my profile and downvoted based off past instances

I still don't even understand the point of the votes. Who cares? Are people's lives that sad that they get a thrill out of getting a few upvotes on some drivel they posted on the interwebs? On the flipside, yea, why do people downvote just because they disagree. THAT'S what the chat is for..to discuss stuff like humans. Not tally up a bunch of arbitrary votes like monkeys.

This is larger than board behavior. I found most humans aren't willing to entertain different opinions. The more you express yours and especially if it's different? People tend to rune you out, wait for you to stop talking, and once you do state what they were going to say regardless.

Pay attention to you interactions with people and you'll see what I mean. Pay attention to how many times people ask questions back after you've asked them a question.

People want agreement and they want to talk about themselves. Next conversation you have ask the person questions, but do not tell them anything about yourself or relate.

My bet is they won't ask about you.

If you find someone who does? That's a person that is a potential friends, because they express interest in you and your thoughts.

Here in the boards it's even easier because of the vote button. Imagine if in real life unknown people could down or up vote your conversation. I imagine you'd experience similar results.

Simple. People downvote because they disagree, and upvote if they agree.

I have noticed that longer posts not from riot themself will be practically ignored because "nobody has time for this ****". People dont tend to read too long of comments nor posts.

This creates problems when you need to have a fairly long explaination, about why you suggest one thing or another..... and most people ignore it completely and only read the "TL/DR". Completely wasting the time you spent explaining what it is you were asking and why.... often times asking questions that is very clearly answered and stated in the post.

Most of these longer posts also tend to get downvoted to hell just because they are long and dont have a TL/DR.

Because forums aren't what they used to be. Why is there even an up or downvote on a forum? It should be about discussion and debate.

I don't agree. Downvoting.

(And before someone accuses me of actually doing it, that was a joke)
