This post will get down-voted to oblivion

I see more "advisors" and "archivists" and whatever other nonsensical titles the boards can come up with - acting like total assholes than I see any other non-titled board poster.

You guys need to be more careful with who you give titles to.

These people are supposed to represent the best of the best as far as the league community in their respective "roles" or whatever the hell their purpose is. I'm not sure I can differentiate between them, and the thousands of other bitching, angsty, whining teenage players who post every gripe and bitch they have all over the boards.

and I'm not saying I'm any less guilty. I'm just as guilty as anyone else of posting all my bitches and gripes all over the boards. Its a venting place for me. Just like it is for anyone else, honestly.

So what's the difference between an "advisor" and a "super awesome awesome-dude" and anyone else?

They are just as disrespectful and mean as anyone else, except they get a shiny badge next to their names and their posts are different colors. They're just as toxic. They're just as childish. They're just as irresponsible, and they're just as meaningless as anyone else.

So why do they get extravagant titles?

As with anything else, I'm sure there are exceptions. I don't mean to disrespect the people who actually take their position seriously and deserve the respect of the community. There are some really cool mods and some really cool uh.... "role holders" or whatever. I don't know what to call them.

But the overall majority of them are just glorified normal board posters who just happened to know somebody or got lucky, and have used that advantage ever since to act like they're better than everyone or they deserve some kind of respect while doing absolutely NOTHING to actually EARN that respect.

or worse - acting like complete fucking assclowns, undeserving of any title at all.

This is definitely something that we'd like to know about, if you see it. You can report a moderator's behavior just like everyone else's, or you can come onto the Boards Moderation Discord to discuss your concerns. If I'm not around you can use the @Herald ping to specifically request one of us, or you can talk to a Senior Moderator and request that the information be passed to us (and visible in the Discord history so we can see your concerns directly from you). We'll look into it. :)

I am watching cyan named advisors sticking to their guns on issues they clearly know nothing about. It makes me doubt the board system as a whole.

The basic titles basically mean they actually know a thing or two about Riot, and can answer questions. Other than that they are just regular players like we are. Some have moderator powers of different degrees, though I haven't looked into that stuff myself, and they do have some guidelines to follow, though whether those guidelines are enough is a matter of debate.

A lot of the time the people with titles that I see doing potentially questionable posts are being treated like shit by regulars. It's fine to earn respect, but you can't expect everyone to work their way up from being treated like dirt. There's a baseline, and many posters around here have their baseline set way too low. If the titled guys were being treated fine and still acted like that I'd have an issue, but considering what they put up with I gladly turn a blind eye.

I'd like to be an official and sanctioned "Old" for these boards.

Credentials: I'll be 36 this year. I don't like other people. I think Zoe is gross. And I don't think you ward enough to be complaining about my performance.
