Riot you are aware that there's a huge bias on your boards right?

For example out of all the people that play league, since it is global, there's a decent sized group that does use the forums that will downvote anything that doesn't have to do with what's trending. 1k people don't speak for the millions that do play this game. So if someone comes up with the whole "buff rengar" even though exists, and anything that doesn't have to do with buffing rengar so that the thread will be within eyeshot.

I'm pretty sure Riot is completely aware of the fact that there are many outspoken groups of people who rally behind specific champions and ideas.

As you can see those groups don't always succeed though considering Riot has stated countless times that they will not buff Rengar as he currently exists.

People vote for what they like to see. What are you proposing? We do have the option to disable thread voting per board, which has been discussed, but it makes it incredibly difficult for good content to stand out that way.

You just take everything you see with a grain of salt. People say they come from reddit or the "reddit hive mind".

So if you look at a person who goes "nerf yasuo" and he goes to every nerf yasuo thread and up votes and every buff yasuo thread and down votes, just to downvote, than you'll know he's biased.

Riot is well aware of the fact that the boards -- and Reddit -- are not a perfect indication of the playerbase's opinions but merely a subset of it. :)

I just remember people asking for singed w to have a grounding effect and it did. It scared me into thinking that the boards have a huge influence on the game. There are many ways to approach things, like for example I don't like Vladimir because of his sustain in lane and how much magic damage he can do, but I don't play him either so I can't just say "nerf vlad".

I'm confident the balance team doesn't add stuff to the game simply because a thread on the Boards got a lot of upvotes. Any balance change goes through the proper testing protocol first.

Well I'm sure riot does their little "background checks" on players. If someone is going "nerf rengar" or "buff rengar", then I'm sure they will look at the player skill level based on their played games.

I think you missed my point. Riot doesn't judge whether a champion needs a buff or a nerf based solely on Boards posts. There are a number of factors that go into balancing League of Legends and I imagine "boards posts" is pretty low on the list.

Oh yeah I looked at that thread and I agree about the pro play. I just wish other players would realize this as well. And the fact that there are certain matchups that the person is already at a disadvantage. Like nowadays picking Yasuo into the current Singed will probably get yasuo killed a lot. And immobile champs pretty much being deleted by mobile champs with Annie as the exception.
