Remove Downvoting

In my opinion, it serves no use aside from trolling people or topics you dislike. You can already see how many views a topic has, and comparing that to how many upvotes a topic has reflects the value of the post. As it is now, we have many valid arguments and discussions being downvoted simply because people don't like the topic or the person making the statements. Instead, if the downvote feature is removed you have a very clear view of whether or not people think a post is worth discussing or a comment adds value.

Example of why downvotes fail: "Ahri shouldn't get another Popstar-related skin" downvoted to oblivion by people who want Ahri to have millions of skins because she's their favorite champion.

Example of why removing downvoates work: "Garen is broken and should be nerfed" 2 upvotes out of 10k views shows that not many people agree with this statement

What removing the downvoting option solves? If you don't like something, it's reflected in you not voting on it. If you think a topic or comment is worthy of looking at or considering, good news! You can upvote it!

Now, there's one issue that I think is both extremely relevant and detrimental to this, and that's the view count. I believe it's based on total views, not the number of people that view the topic. Correct or agree if either idea is true.

We've talked about this a lot but, ultimately, people seem to really like having the downvote option -- there was a lot of outcry during our brief test of removing it. It's a subject we're definitely open to revisiting, even on a board-by-board basis, but it is one that's a bit trickier than it seems at face value.

On the other hand, having just upvotes visible gives a false impression of what the community preffers.

You can already see how many views a topic has, and comparing that to how many upvotes a topic has reflects the value of the post.

And, in case you haven't noticed, the number of upvotes/downvotes pales in comparison to the views. That's because most people don't actually bother with voting.

You don't need to remove downvotes to determine a post's value, based on that^

Example of why downvotes fail: "Ahri shouldn't get another Popstar-related skin" downvoted to oblivion by people who want Ahri to have millions of skins because she's their favorite champion.

Your two examples are anecdotal. And anecdotal evidence is irrelevant.
