moderator/mod team/whoever created "megathreads" where the mods identify a commonly complained about/discussed idea/problem/champion, start the post by posting all available public data (ex: winrates, pick/ban rates, their current kit with ratios/etc, and more) and then allow the community to discuss ideas for improvement on one thread with multiple ideas in the comment threads.

ModUlanopo2 votesWe have regularly scheduled discussions about actions that have been taken, initiatives we're considering, progress reports, moderation guidelines under review, that sort of thing - though the holidays make it harder. I get the feeling sometimes that people have an impression of the moderation team as really loose and kind of unprofessional, when the reality is quite the opposite. We don't have fixed hours or quotas, but we're actually pretty organized and hard-working.

Especially if it turns out to be hugely popular See mercy megathread on OW forums, it's been remade multiple times because it simply takes up that much space and has that many posts into. They then delete anything that can be redirected to a mega thread (silencing discussion elsewhere). As threads age they die, which is why new ones pop up addressing the same thing
Heavy moderation, severe penalties and rioter interaction would be a must if this were to work

What some may see as silencing, others may see as keeping room for other discussions. What happened on the OW forum with Mercy threads was necessary because everyday multiple threads about her which added nothing to the discussion and just echoed what was already said a million times would be on the front page.
It wasn't really a loss to have those threads get their own space which you would only get to see of you were actually invested in talking about it.
Just like it wouldn't be a loss if all the 'damage is too much' threads got their own little space here.

Otherwise the point of discussions there is greatly diminished by unwitting comments.
rujitra2 votesThe point of this would be to more easily let people come to gameplay plus and post there - right now i think one of the reasons there's only a few threads is people are expected to do all the reasearch themselves and that is daunting to many players. if some of the data is presented and the community offered the opportunity to analyze it, subject to gameplay plus rules, it may help more people participate?

I'm all for the idea.
The way I see it however, someone who posts in gameplay+ should be knowledgeable about the topic beforehand and not just form an opinion on the spot when being presented the factual data.
I agree though that there is a lot to be gained when people can more easily inform themselves and if not that, it would be at least convenient.
