Game Info pages on the main site need updating

Game Info | League of Legends

I have no idea what the appropriate board to post this would be, but there doesn't seem to be any that deal with general site feedback.

tl;dr - Game Info page is outdated in more ways than one, as are the many pages linked there. It would be a mistake sharing these pages as a source of information about the game to anyone, inside or outside of the League Community. /tl;dr

Anyway, let's begin.

So, I decide to open up the Game Info page because I was interested in showing some of the characters in League of Legends to a friend of mine. It's clearly using an older League of Legends site layout, but I believed the page served its intended purpose.

As I was browsing the Champions, I discovered a few champions were missing.

Kayn Kayn wasn't listed. He's the most recent champion, so I figured it might just be an oversight that he hadn't been added yet. However.. Rakan Rakan and Xayah Xayah are both missing from the list as well. They've been around for a bit longer, so that seemed unusual.

I dug a bit deeper, and it turns out many of the Champion Pages are outdated as well.

A few examples: Urgot Urgot - The entire page is outdated, showing his pre-rework kit and splashes. Maokai Maokai/Warwick Warwick - The splashes are updated, but the abilities are pre-rework. Galio Galio - Some, but not all, of the splashes are updated, but his abilities shown are pre-rework.

So, I then decided to check the Items page, and it seems there are many items that are several patches behind. The majority of the offenders are either newer items or ones which have undergone heavy changes within the last few months.

A few examples: item 3001 Abyssal Mask - Still listed as Abyssal Scepter with its original Passive Aura. item 3194 Adaptive Helmet - Doesn't even appear in the list. item 3301 Ancient Coin/item 3303 Spellthief's Edge/item 3302 Relic Shield lines - All still have their pre-Quest versions. item 3504 Ardent Censer - Doesn't show its passive scales with level, just shows a flat 20% Attack Speed Increase and 20 Health gained per attack. item 3174 Athene's Unholy Grail - Stats are outdated and still shows Harmony as its Unique Passive, not Dissonance.

And this is just the A's.. ..Well, technically, only one of the Gold Generation items begins with the letter A, but I digress.

Moving on down the page, we have Summoner Spells.

summoner 32 Mark/summoner 31 Poro Toss/summoner 30 To the King! - The Maps listed for these are really.. odd. Mark should be listed as Howling Abyss, while Poro Toss and To the King! would be more appropriately listed as being for special game modes only. summoner 21 Barrier - Incorrectly says it's available at Level 6, when it's actually available at Level 4. summoner 3 Exhaust - Incorrectly says it's available at Level 8, but is actually available at Level 4. Also still says it lowers Attack Speed and Armor/Magic Resist. summoner 1 Cleanse/summoner 12 Teleport - Incorrectly says they're available at Level 2, but actually available at Level 6. summoner 4 Flash - Incorrectly says it's available at Level 12, but actually available at Level 8. summoner 14 Ignite/summoner 11 Smite - Incorrectly listed at Levels 8 and 3, respectively, but are both actually available at Level 10.

Next up are Runes and Masteries. The Runes page still shows Tier 1 Runes as existing and use their old artwork. The Masteries page... It's old. It uses the artwork from before the new Client, and lists many outdated Masteries.

Granted, both Runes and Masteries are going to be merged into one system by the next season, but that's even more reason to update these pages.

So, below that, we have The Summoner's Code. Strangely enough, while the section on the Game Info page certainly could be expanded a bit, the actual page for The Summoner's Code seems to have been updated to the current League of Legends look.

Finally, we get down to the Game Modes section. Let's just look at the paragraph listed here.

Battlefields fall into two primary game modes: Classic and Dominion. Classic game mode requires you to destroy the enemy's nexus while defending your own. A game of Dominion requires you to hold the majority of capture points on the map to damage the enemy nexus.

Below this.. painful reminder of the removal of a severely neglected game mode outdated piece of information, we have the current 3 full-time maps.

Summoner's Rift - The old Dragon is shown here, with no information about the Elemental Dragons. It also has nothing about the Rift Scuttler. Down at the bottom of the page, it shows a list of available items. ..Or at least, I imagine it once did. At the moment, however, this section is entirely empty.

Twisted Treeline - While this seems to be.. current enough, the page still has the old League of Legends layout. At least this page's item list shows items that are available, outdated as they may be.

Howling Abyss - Similar to Twisted Treeline, this page seems to be current enough, though its item list appears to be more outdated than the former.

There is a lack of anything about Rotating Game Modes, something that would fit quite reasonably here. Alas, this is the end of the Game Info page.

To conclude, I no longer believe any of these pages serve their intended purposes. I wish I could say I was surprised to see this, but.. It's entirely expected. It's a very common trend here seeing things go neglected and ignored for long periods of time with little to no communication on the matter.

I don't know that this is the appropriate board to post this, but there didn't seem to be one available. However, in terms of Community Feedback, there is one thing I can say.

As outdated as the Game Info pages are, it would be a mistake to share any of these pages to provide information about the game with anyone who might be remotely interested in League of Legends.

Just thought I'd give this a little bump since it's been a couple of weeks. As I mentioned in the opening post, there really doesn't seem to be a proper board for discussions about the League of Legends site itself.

However, with the Game Info pages being as outdated as they are, I feel it can have a pretty negative effect on anyone who may have any sort of interest in the game of League of Legends. Veterans tend to already know the pages are very inconsistent and outdated, while players who may just be getting into the game might find the misinformation to be fairly.. unprofessional and unreliable.
